Going on a Disney Cruise in September 2023 - Should we purchase the Disney+ Magic Bands for the cruise?

In our party of two, one of us chose to buy a band. The other opted out.

Yes, it will have the same functions as the Magicband+ they are selling for the parks.

I bought one because I misplaced my room card twice last cruise. Now I have to be certain to not misplace something bulkier.

Do I really need one? No.

I don’t buy drinks or goods. Or get photos. That one seems like a card is actually quicker, so you can be getting posed while they scan it.

This is mainly for the convenience of opening the door - and the fun of using it for initial boarding.

Those seem to be the two biggest uses.

Nothing that logically justifies adding another plastic wrist strap to my collection (I have 3 older, functioning, Magicbands.)

I do not actually want my band to put out lights while fireworks are happening. I don’t see that as a selling point.

Only the sold color bands are $24.99 after the discount. Shipping was fast. And it does have my name on it.

I think if you need a band for the parks - and are going on a cruise - this is a good way to purchase one.

wow, thanks for the heads up. I'll have a quick look. I'm on the dreamso I guess I won't be worrying about this just yet.

I'd only buy one if you saw one you really loved. You'll still need your keycard to get back on the ship at port stops. But if you have kids, they'll use the DisneyBand/MB+ in the kids club and my kids are probably more like to prefer to wear their DosneyBand/MB+ than the kids club band.

But we already have MB+ from WDW. I don't think we're buying a new band for our cruise next year.
