I am going "home" next Wednesday, and I have a few questions. I always read about everyone faxing in there "room requests". Does anyone know when I should do it, and what is the fax #. Has anyone had any experiences faxing in room requests and not getting what they requested? Does anyone know what requests are filled first?
I was down last year at the same time, and there was problems with wild fires, anyone know if there is any problem like that this year?
If I call BWV guest relations tomorrow, will they allow me to book a Fantasmic package for next Friday?

While I am not one to post often, I do read these forums daily. I just want to Thank everyone involved in creating thses forums for us. I also would like to Thank everyone who posts on these boards, without who I could never plan my Magical Vacations.

There is one wildfire in the Disney area. A friend of ours said she could smell the smoke at Epcot yesterday. She hadn't heard anything about it on the news, so she didn't know where it was or how extensive.

It has been just as dry this spring as it was last year, so the water levels are all very low. The 10-day forecast calls for temps in the upper 80s and no rain.

I was also at WDW last May. Our last day, at Epcot, the smoke was so thick it was difficult to breathe. I've got a photo of the smoke cloud rising in the distance behind Mexico.

Two days from now, we'll be at OKW! :bounce:

Welcome fellow LI'er

I have never faxed room requests, but I have had MS put my request on my ressie and got pretty much what I asked for. I think they're basically first come, first served, but will depend on what the room controllers can give out (depending on lenght of stay, etc)

You should be able to book fantasmic 7 days in advance by calling Guest Realtions at the BW

Have a great trip!

We're at OKW and yes, like last year there is a fire here. VERY close to Epcot. The safari is closed at Animal Kingdom because it is so close. Another guest said a CM told her it was 200 feet away from some of the animals. A CM told me it was less than 10% contained! You could watch the helicopters putting water on the fire.

The smoke was bad yesterday. Today you could see it, but not smell it.

Hopefully they will be put out by the time you arrive.

Have a great trip! I know we are, as always, it's good to be home.
