Background - though not much to say.. I wanna go to Disney!!!
We have been to WDW twice, first in 2007 where we stayed at Port Orleans riverside with my mum and in 2008 we went with my sister and stayed at All Stars Music. As well as WDW we have been to DLRP 5 times and we love both resorts very much.
This trip has come about for a few reasons, mainly that I am desperate to finally get to use our DVC after not being able to use it this year. I have always wanted to have a Disney birthday so I first looked at DLRP, with 3 nights at the HNY however then DBF said he would like to go to DLRP too however not in Janaury (to cold!!!) so we are now going to DLRP later in the year. Looking at flights I realised I could fit in 9 nights at WDW and it wouldn't cost much more than going to DLRP. I have accomadation sorted and will buy Annual passes for Disney with our DVC discount as we will be going later in the year too.
As well as celebrating my birthday we are also going to celebrate DD birthday which is a few days after we get back and also a late celebration for my graduation this year! I haven't had the best time in life with past illnessess and other stuff so I am going to celebrate that I can surive life!!
It is just the two of us going and I am really looking forward to it as we both had a fantastic time at DLRP last year together. I used to be nervous about the thought of doing it alone however I know my DD is at an age where she can have fun together, she can go on most of the rides, enjoys eating in resturants and has a fun sense of adventure and humour, she is now my ideal Disney holiday companion! She no longer complains of being tierd, asking to be carried, can carry her own stuff, doesn't need feeding every couple of hours, bascally all the hard things of taking young children away.
While I had a fantastic time last year with my sister I now don't have to plan to keep every happy, my sister hated character meals so we only did one last year however this trip we will make up for it.
Que comments from family about going to WDW again, am I not bored of it by now and how we are going for to short of a time etc etc etc.... snore!
I would post pictures from previous trips however I was 2 stone heavier then them I am now so I am not going too! (there on facebook anyway, lol)
THE QUICK PLANNING!!
The great thing about booking 3 months before is that no waiting for days to book ADRs so could get on with planning at lighting quick speed.
Tuesday 13th October.
I have booked flights with Virgin Atlantic from Manchester, seats pre requested I went with two in the middle with DD in a ailse seat for easy exit for the bathroom as she gets airsick.
Next I called DVC to book accomadation. The CM said that all my nights were avilable at AKV however when I asked him to check avilablity in the remote chance BCV or BWV were avilable one of the nights at AKV Jambo house went so I booked AKV SV studio with one night wait listed. The CM said it was almost certain I would get the night needed.
Later I realise that I have booked are check in day a day to late, doh! However I quickly get this sorted by sending an email and it is sorted by Disney in super quick speed.
Wedesnday 15th October
Now I am moving on quickly with the planning, as January hours are out and I can book my ADRs today, yay!
I check tour guide mike and come up with my interniary which take literaily 5 minutes. After 2 visits to WDW we know which parks we like. I also manage to book my ADRs and I am pretty pleased with what we have booked. I have decded to pay for DDP for this trip mostly so we can eat at table services resturants and also it is nice to give DD a treat, icecream etc without counting the $. I quickly scanned allears for menus which didn't take long as I already had a list in my head from previous trips of what we liked and wanted to try. Planning does get easier when you have been before.
itinerary
Tuesday - fly out to Orlando from Manchester airport with VA. Magical express to Animal Kingdom Villas.
Wedesnday- Early start at Magic kingdom- DD has many favourite rides here so we will be spending most of the day here.Dinner is booked at 1900 park fare, Cinderella Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner leaving enough time back to MK for spectromagic which we haven't seen since 2007.
Thursday - Epcot, AM we will be doing future world, Soarin, Test Track, Turtle Crush are our must do's here. In the afternoon we will explore World Show Case & and dinner is booked at Le Cellier.
Friday- Hollywood Studios -(I have adapted to the new name rather well,) Must do rides here are Rock N Roller coaster and looking forward to doing it glasses free as I had laser eye surgery in april. Toy story mania(hopefully I won't queue more than 30 minutes for it!) and The Little Mermaid show. I hope DD will give ToT a try. We will be giving fantasmic a miss this trip. We have lunch booked at Mama Melrose,
Saturday- Animal Kingdom for the moring, we do a few rides and character meets and will leave around mid day. Afternoon will be spent at the resort enjoying the views, and dinner will be at Boma.
Sunday- I think DD will now be despearte to hit the Disney store now we have all the parks under our belt, so we will head to DTD and will have lunch here. Dinner tonight is booked at Coral reef so we will be off to epcot for the evening and we will stay to watch illuminations.
Monday- Breakfast at Ohana this morning to meet some characters and no plans as of yet.
Tuesday - my birthday ! morning relaxing and then afternoon at epcot and Dinner at Yachtsman steak house AND I will be having a glass of wine or 2 and I eagily anticapte the disaproving stares of a lone mother having a drink.(It takes more than 2 glasses of wine to make me completely drunk anyway! (oops maybe should have admited that one)
Wedesnday- We are celebrating DD birthday a few days early as it is her birthday at the weekend when we get home. I am guessing the park of choice in the morning will be MK and Epcot in the evening DD birthday meal is booked at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and we already have princess dress at the ready!!
Thursday-flying home today, usually we go to DTD to check in and then to Epcot where we have a counter service lunch before getting the ME back and I am guessing this year will be the same, as DD always wants Test Track as her last ride of the holiday.
All subject to change on the whim of a 7 year old girl! Who knows if she will be able to wait 2 days to ride test track or 5 days to shop! Though it should pretty much stay the same.
I also told DD about the trip today & she is very excited about staying at AKV and finally going to her Disney Home as she calls it.
Friday 16th October!
I checked the DVC member site and my waitlist has come through so I have 9 nights at AKV Savannah view studio booked!! Yay.
Friday 13th November
Well now 60 days to go...costumes galore
Not much happening of the planning front at the moment apart from the important task of choosing which costumes DD is going to wear for her character meals.,( this is something DD likes to plan!). She has a snow white dress for her princess storybook meal . For our Lilo & Stich breakfast at ohana she has decided to go with a pink minnie dress complete with ears.
I also started to get DD christmas presents which include a cinderella dress which will be prefect to wear for Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner. She has also asked for a fairy dress for christmas which will be worn to meet her fairy friends.
to be continued...............
