Going from POR to Boardwalk

We would like to go to the Boardwalk from POR and are trying to figure out the best way. I think we could take the bus to MGM and then take a boat or take a bus to Epcot and then walk. Does anyone know how long this walk is? or where it begins and ends Would I have to go through Epcot and out the International Gateway? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Best way would be to take a bus to MGM then boat to Boardwalk. If you go to Epcot you would have to walk from the front to international gateway to exit.

The walkway is a nice option - we use it often to go between MGM. and the BWV, On the MGM end, the path begins across the water from the MGM boat dock.

It's faster to walk than to wait for a boat. Even if we start walking as a boat is leaving, we beat the boat to the BW. The boat stops at the Swan/Dolphin dock and the BC/YC/BCV dock before it gets to the BW dock. It's a nice ride, but if you are in a hurry, it's faster to walk (unless you are traveling with strollers, tired children, wheelchairs or slow walkers, LOL).

For an average walker, it will take about 10-15 minutes from the MGM turnstiles to the BW. The link below is a map of the BW resort -the path runs along the canal (look just to the left of the water at the top right of the page. MGM is beyond the tennis courts area). We cut through Luna Park area (X on the map) to get to the Boardwalk a little faster. There is an archway bewteen J and K on the map that leads from the pool area to the Boardwalk.

The walkway is well lighted at night.
