My husband and i have always stayed in the value resorts either POP, or ASMU, This year we can afford deluxe:) I have never stayed at deluxe before so i need opinions!!:) I will tell you the ones i think i like are : Wilderness Lodge, Beach and Yacht Club ( i think its the name by the one by the boardwalk), The boardwalk, or Poly. I am kinda interesting in the boardwalk area so we could just walk to epcot and to Disney Studios and avoid the buses for at least a few parks-- Plese give me advice on places that all of you had stayed and your experience with the Deluxe compared to values. We are looking for something with a little romantic atmospher too:) Please give me your opinions:) Thanks so much

Out of all of those you mentioned - I've only stayed at WL. We really loved it!!! I'm hoping to try the Beach Club next year if we can afford it!!!

The EPCOT hotels are nice by location.

WL does have nice ambiance for romance. But I feel like I need a car there.

The Poly is nice atmosphere too, but large and can maybe feel crowded, though we rarely saw people in our building. Plus you get the all-the-time view of the castle (even if you don't stay MK view).

But the real deal is Swan & Dolphin. They have moderate hotel prices, with deluxe status. They are EPCOT hotels and they are very nice. No, they're not "Disney," but they are something to consider. Plus then, you can splurge on dinners or Cirque or mini golf, shopping, etc.

Decisions, decisions.

First of all, think about what you want out of a resort. Do you want to be on a lake? Do you want to walk to a park? Are there pool, restaurant, marina, or other recreational amenities that are important to you? What is your definition of a romantic setting? Then narrow down your resort choices based on your wish list.

One thing to consider if traveling in September - it's very hot, and very humid, and it rains nearly every afternoon. I've stayed at the different Epcot resorts, as well as at CR, for the convenience of walking to one or two of the parks. But I don't do it in September. I do it during the cooler months. When I go in September, I lean more toward convenient transportation that will at least keep me dry and hopefully with some A/C. Another thing to consider is the possibility of hurricanes. With a resort like WL, AKL, or any of the totally contained resorts, you may not be confined to your room nearly as much as you might be at, say, Poly or GF, where the rooms are in separate buildings.

I usually spend a week or two at Disney in September. I usually go for one of the DVC resorts, either a studio or a 1BR, so I have a kitchen/kitchenette in case I am confined to the room for a while. This year, it will be VWL for me.

I have stayed in the following in order that I stayed in. Poly, WL, GF, Yacht Club & BWI. Out of all of them my favorites are WL, Yacht Club, BWI & Poly never again GF. I prefer the Yacht Club since it is close to Epcot & Disney Hollywood studios. The bus service from the Yacht Club is great in MHO:thumbsup2

Congrats on being able to stay at a deluxe! With just 2 adults, I'd recommend BWI or YC. You could easily walk into the Epcot countries for a nice meal each and every night (SO convenient!). Also walk or boat to Studios. These options are especially nice after the night firework shows and you can grab a snack/drink and just stroll back to your resort -- no lines, no crowds, no buses. Then sit on the benches/boardwalk and enjoy the nightly entertainment. Of course there is ESPN and dancing on the boardwalk too. Lots of things to do after the parks close. And, yes, we find it very romantic, peaceful, beautiful.

WL is pretty too, but you won't find as many conveniences of getting to the parks. Just the boat to MK (which is nice).

Poly is another good option. Direct monorail service to both MK and Epcot. Great restaurants. Fun pool. Can see the Castle and Wishes from the Poly.

I think you would enjoy any of your options. But my vote goes to an Epcot resort. I think they're slightly more adult-oriented and have more adult things to do at night after the parks close.
:)

for two adults, i would definately pick either the YC or BWI (we find BC pretty, but much too noisy for our tastes). both are elegant resorts, with BWI getting the edge b/c of all there is to do on the BW itself (literally, a myriad of options during the day, as well as evening: stroll to EPCOT (stopping for a  in the gazebo), have drinks at BRG & people watch, street performers, surrey bikes, lounge, jellyrolls, etc).
we found AKL & WL beautiful, but with very limited "activities", great for shorter trips . imho, the poly & GF two of the most beautiful resorts on property, however the big draw with each is monorail access to MK (tho the poly beach is especially romantic at night, & the GF lobby is absolutely stunning).
everyone's tastes differ tho ~ look at each resort individually to see which one's decor & amenities give you that "wow" feeling.
