Going back to WDW for Liam's 9th Birthday! 5/29-6/3 WE ARE BACK!!!

:welcome:Glad to have you on board, now the party can really begin. (I knew the lure of a pic with Johnny Depp would get you over here:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:)

Now that I have everyone's attention I have a very important question to ask. It's about food.:worship::worship::worship:

I started thinking that since we will probably be leaving DAK before closing that it would be a perfect time to go to DTD. We have never been there and want to check out some of the stores (Liam loves lego's). First of all is there a bus that takes you from DAK to DTD or do you have to take a bus to a resort and than to DTD? If that is the case what resort should we go to?

Now that that question is out of the way lets get to the food!!!:cloud9: At first I was thinking about T-Rex but there are no dinner reservations open, I will keep checking on it but am not counting on it. So that leaves me two options that I am looking at. First of all there is Earl of Sandwich. Looks good and a lot of great comments but it is lower priced for a dinner and being on the QSDP I am trying to get the best bang for my buck. Second is Wolfgang Puck Express. Food looks great, great comments but I am confused that it is listed on the pamphlet for QSDP but say it is not accepting DP in the DISboards? Help!!!!!:headache:

You'll have to bus hop if you take a bus directly from AK - but I really don't know the best way to do it. :( We usually just go back to our resort and clean up before we go to DTD ... but I know someone will come and give you the best transportation answer. :thumbsup2

Between EoS and WGPE, I'd totally go WGPE. It is on the DDP - at one point, WDW removed it from the pamphlet, but it was returned. I scheduled an actual dinner and the website stated we could not use our DDP for it, so I called the Dining Hotline where they confirmed the website is "funky" and that WGP and WGPE does accept DDP.

But really, either place is awesome, so you can't go wrong! If you're really wanting to eat at T-Rex, then keep trying to make the reservation. From my understanding, when it comes to DTD restaurants, WDW only takes out a select number of tables to reserve. Okay, here's my experience. I tried to get an ADR for RFC in 2009 but booked full. The CM said that I could call the RFC direct since they have more availability than what they can book. Granted, this was 2009, and things can change at any given time. So call T-Rex direct if you can't get that ADR. Otherwise, try walking in (we actually walked in for party of 8 and was sat immediately at RFC). :thumbsup2

I've also read on the boards here that many times you can get an ADR if you call T-REX dierectly.

As far as T-Rex, did you try calling the restaurant directly? When I was planning my other trip, I tried to get a last minute ADR at T-Rex on the online booking system and nothing was available. Then I called the restaurant directly and they had plenty of availability!

Thanks so much for all your awsome advice. I wouldn't have even thought of calling T-Rex. I was under the assumption that it was a WDW resturaunt and I needed to do reservations through them. I'm still so ADR slow. Someone made our reservations for us during our wish trip so I am a newbie at this. Before I called I showed Liam the pic of T-Rex and asked what he thought. "We got to do that mom." I was a bit surprised because he doesn't want to do Dinosaur at DAK, but he told me it was because it had a dinosaur monster.:lmao:

Good news is I called the resturant, told them I needed reservations for June 2 for about 7 pm. I took them a minute to look it up, but than said it would be no problem. So I officially have T-Rex ressies.:cool1::cool1:

So now the question is if I have the money for 3 TS OOP. Since Liam is so excited about T-Rex, this is the one I will make his special B-Day dinner and than decide closer to the trip if I can still afford 50's Prime Time.:cool2:

Pardon me for yelling but....
60 days till we are at Disney World:banana::dance3::yay::woohoo::cheer2:party::crazy:
:jumping1::disrocks::thumbsup2

Alright then,
Back to your regular programing.:goodvibes

I'm glad you posted about calling them. I was looking for a res on the fri after SWW. I will call them when we get a little closer. Do you have to have a ticket to get into Downtown Disney. If not we may just go one day after Universal.

No tickets are required for DTD dining and shopping. :thumbsup2

(Tickets required for things like DQ and La Nouba, though.)

I am so glad that you guys are going to DTD. We didn't go during our Wish Trip, with a 2 year old in the group it was better for us to head back to the villa and rest.:)

DTD looks like a lot of fun. Liam is really looking foward to the Lego store. It is supposed to be huge!!! He loves legos and if you add star wars legos to the mix and he will be in 7th heavan:cloud9:

I think the Wish kids also get a free small gift at Planet Hollywood. You might want to ask over at the Wish Trippers Thread. We went in 2009 so it might have changed.:thumbsup2

So glad you got ressies for T-Rex!!! We love that place and I am sure you and Liam will, too! :thumbsup2

:woohoo:So I wanted to acdcomplish a few things with this update
so please bare with me.:thumbsup2

First of all I wanted to post a picture of our Countdown Calander.
PreDisney2011011.jpg

Liam helped me glue all the paint chips on and is very proud of it
We are putting Disney stickers on it so we don't have any blank spots
I actually missed a date,
But if I don't tell know one will notice
(Oops I just told.:lmao:)
If any one is intrested
These mickey heads are paint chip I got for FREE at Home Depot
Got to love the price.

Second I wanted to share some more pics of some more things I bought
I know me shop
So unlike me
:lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:
I bought these at the dollar spot at Target.
I know not all are Disney
But I couldn't get Mia one and not the boys
The Pens are mine:woohoo:
I am going to put these in there Easter baskets.
PreDisney2011039.jpg

I bought these at the Disney Store for $5 each
I couldn't pass up that price.
The mickey one is for Aidan
The Tangled one is for Mia
and the Perry one is for Liam
Unfortunatly that didn't have any in Rylan's size
I am also going to put these in their Easter baskets
PreDisney2011041.jpg

This last disney purchase is for me

And it was marked down from $32 to $10

Last but not least
I wanted to tell you a little more about our cast of characters
I have seen these in a couple of PTR's an love it

Me: Corrine
Age: 37
Times at Park: Was at DL when I was a little girl, May 2009 at GKTW for Liam's wish trip.
Favorite Park: MK of course. I am just a princess at heart.
Least Favorite: I really don't have one, but I only spent half day at Epcot and DAK, so I'll have to get back to you on that one.:thumbsup2
Favorite resort: Never stayed at a WDW Resort, but would love to stay at BLT.
Favorite Character: Love the princesses (really like Repunzel right now) but will always have a special spot in my heart for Mickey Mouse.
Favorite Attraction: Love the Haunted Mansion, but have not gone on any big thrill ride (just splash montain which I love as well)
Least Favorite Attraction: Was very unhappy with the Tiki Room, but than again it broke down in the middle of the show so who knows:confused3
Favorite Food: I really enjoyed Akursas, but we only did 3 TS and on CS during our last trip.
Least Favorite: Though Sci Fi Dine In was a little over rated, but the food was decent

DS: Liam
Age: 8 (will be 9 for our trip)
Times at park: September 2009 for his wish trip
Favorite Park: DHS, he just loves Star Tours:)
Least Favorite Park: MK (because it has lots of Princesses)
Resorts: doesn't have fav or least fav because never stayed in one
Favorite Charter: Mickey Mouse (Like mom like son:hug:)
Least fav charter: The Princesses
Fav Attraction: Star Tours and Spaceship Earth
Least fav: Rollercoaster and Dinosuar (he's a bit of a woss :scared1:)
Fav resturaunt: Chef Mickey's (is looking foward to T-Rex though)
Least favorite: Akursas ( because of the Princesses)

So that is a little more about us.
Now you see a little more reason I am taking Liam and Mia on seperate trips
She loves Princesses
And he wants nothing to with them
She already wants to start planning our trip for 2013
I think I have created a monster
Or least a future DISer.

You will love T-Rex cafe. It is a lot of fun. It is one of Tyler's favorite restaurants as the original and only other one is in Kansas City. Do you belong to My Points? I know that lots of people redeem their points from there to get Rainforest Cafe gift certificates and they can be used at T-Rex. I am not sure how many points you can accumulate in a month or so.

I love your Disney store shirts! I wish that had not closed the one here, but I guess I am saving money at the same time!

Your plans are looking great! :wizard:

Thanks. I saw alot of people talk about T-Rex in there PTR's and thought Liam would love. You are lucky to have one by you, I just have a RFC.:lmao: I had read about my points on the RFC website but didn't know they worked for T-Rex to, I'll have to look into it further. (unless My Points is not what I am thinking of:confused3)

So today I had one of those rare (OK I admite not so rare:rotfl2:) moments
where I let the excitment of going back to Walt Disney World get the better of me.
I went to Border's yesterday and in my excitement bought a book for Disney World.
I brought it home and started reading it.
Than this morning I checked on my order for Amazon.com
and relized that I had already ordered the book that I just bought.:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:
Oh, well.
At least the let me return it back to the store.:thumbsup2

Hi Corrine :wave2:

I followed you over from my PTR. I am working my way through your PTR. I think that your idea of taking the children seperatly for something special is a wonderful idea. It gives all the spot light to them. I love it.

I had to comment on your post about getting wrapped up in the excitement of going back to Disney. There are times I am talking to a friend about it or DH and I just let out a squeeeeee sound. Everyone looks at me like I am crazy but I have to do it to keep from bouncing like Tigger :lmao:

Okay I am going to read the rest of your report now. I just had to go ahead and comment. I am so glad to know there are others like me :)

Thanks for sharing your RFC pics! :thumbsup2 Looks really cool! I so wish we had one nearby. :sad1:

Grats on the purchases! Really cute stuff! I liked that Mickey top you got!

And what is this "Dollar Spot" at Target I keep hearing about? :confused3

:welcome: I am so glad that you made it down to my PTR, I am really enjoying writing it and hope that all my DISfriends out there are at least slightly entertained.:hippie: I am definalty Disney Crazy, which is one of the reasons that I love the DIS so much. My friends and family are sick of hearing about WDW. Not to mention I am tierd of hearing the nay sayers asking me if I am sure I can afford it and others asking why I would want to go again. At least here I am surrounded by like minds.:grouphug:

There is a area near the front of the store (by one of the front doors), there you will find a whole bunch of diffrent stuff for a buck. There are somethings that might be a bit more (highest I have seen is $2.50) and there always seems to be some Disney Princess stuff. I have found some cute kids Disney socks there.:thumbsup2
