Going back to the other "World" GKTW 3 Big Gives 5/14

First the bad news update then the good

We found out this week that Baby Bear is leaving us to go live in another "hopefully" forever home. We are so sadden by this news and Ella keeps asking me "Why does Bear has to go live in Heaven soon." I don't know how to explain it to her that he will be just fine in his new home.
Hopefully we have a new little one soon to take her mind off of Bear.
All the Children are taking it hard because we really didn't think he would have to leave us :sad1:
I do know it is a good home so that helps ease the pain a little. We have been telling the kids "he doesn't need us anymore and someone else must need us more, so he has to leave to make room for the new one coming"

The good news
The wish Granters are coming on the 11th the day after Avy's 11th birthday
She is counting the days till they come.
We are trying to figure out dates. We are thinking of the first week of May. Hopefully the Easter crowd will be out by then ;)
I am trying to figure out all the details, taking 5 special needs children calls for a lot of planning on my part.
What strollers to bring, What car seats (all 5 are still in car seats) those are my biggest worries because last time the van they gave us didn't have enough room for us all to fit in, thankfully Jason could ride in grandma and grandpa's rental :rotfl:

I am sorry that Baby Bear has to move on. I think that has to be one of the most difficult things about being a foster parent.

Yay for wish granters date!

I'm here my friend  Don't forget to tell the Wish Granters that you might need an extra stroller pusher (wink wink)

I am an EXCELLENT stoller pusher!!!:rotfl: When we were there last year with our family who had 7 members, they got a full sized van and car seats were included.....??? Hopefully they will give you one too!!! We had 3 special needs kids, a toddler and a teen!!! lol. My DH and I came along to help the parents and it worked out super fun!!!!

So HAPPY for Avy!!!!

I really would love to have you come too, you would love GKTW. Think I should push to have Ash come along as her bestest bestest friend and she can't go without her and her mom :lmao:

Last time we got stuck with a mini van :confused3 MAW paid for grandma and grandpa to go with because they are my kids PCA (helpers) so they got a car. I brought our seats because I am a car seat nazi.:rotfl: Some of the kids are older now and can ride in boosters this time around.

Avy had to go get her bottom braces put back on today. For some reason the braces don't stick to her teeth and we have to keep going back in for them to glue them back on

I didn't add this to her list of problems she has respirator mouth. The roof of her mouth is like a upside down V. From the tubing. She has had so much work done in her mouth starting when she was 3 yrs old. She has had 5 spacers in her mouth already with one more in right now plus a full set of braces on her teeth.
The other problem she has with her mouth is she was born with 2 teeth and they pulled them out for the respirator. That caused so many problems because those teeth needed to be there to create more room for her adult teeth.
Who knew those 2 little teeth would cause so many problems.
I have learned so much from this little girl
1) don't let them pull teeth if your baby is born with them
2) you need to drink a bottle to help with speech
3) you need a fake eye to keep your face looking normal and keep the socket growing as you get bigger.
4) Don't listen to the drs they don't know everything:rotfl:

Interesting about the teeth. I've had clients born with teeth and most of them get pulled too.

And yes, Ash would love to help out at GKTW. She should come too :)

No leg casts this week :dance3:
Avy and Hayden are both cleared till March. I think Avy will have to go back in them then, her foot is starting to turn out again. It is not to bad yet but by March I am sure it will be. She meets with the foot surgeon to talk about surgery on her foot. The foot turns out like a backwards L. Her big toe is curled under and she kind of walks on the top of that toe. They said it was damaged due to gravity pulling on it. They are trying to hold off on surgery till she is done with her growth spurt so they don't have to repeat it. They will have to break a lot of bones and cut a lot of muscles all along her foot and up the back of her leg :sad2:

The wish granters are coming on Tue. I don't know what she is more excited for her birthday on Monday or the wish granters on Tue. :cheer2:

Wish granters of course ! Oh wait, that's what I am more excited for LOL!

Started my PTR...come on over ;)

Ella received this outfit from Stacey "snubie" during Jason's big give

there are a longer board type shorts that went with it

Does it still fit??? I love that pattern and it was sort of my signature to make the horizontal "stripes". How wonderful that you are getting another trip.

I am glad to see another foster/adoptive parent, particularly one with special needs kids. I look forward to reading about your trip!

Avy's Wish Granters (A/J/N) came this week. They brought gifts for everyone. As the kids ripped into their bags and begged any big person close to them to open up stuff like lip gloss :lmao:. One of the granters asked me if this is what Christmas looked like :rolleyes1 I said nope they had to open one at a time and it didn't look like a tornado had hit our living room :scared: Thankfully everyone helped pick up :worship:
They were so sweet to bring Avy a wish gift and a Birthday present, since her birthday was the day before. She was so exited. I filled out a bunch of paperwork with N while the kids showed A and J around the house. All the paperwork has been sent to where it needed to go, so now we wait to hear if she gets to go to Disney. popcorn::
Here are a few pictures I blocked out A's face because I didn't ask her if I could post it. Boy did they get Avy the best present in the world as you can see from the smile. She loves to bead.
