We are looking at going back to WDW in late 2010 (November). We have been to Florida many times and got married at WDW. When we got married was the only time we have stayed on property. We stayed at 3 different resorts. First of all we stayed at All Star Movies. I loved the theming and the atmosphere of the resort. Our guests felt that the rooms were small, had a cheap feel and the resorts felt like a British holiday camp.

For the wedding we moved on to the Boardwalk Inn and stayed in a Garden Suite. This place was heaven and the whole feel of the Boardwalk really appeals to me. It is my happy place that I go to in my head. We got married at Seabreeze Pointe so I am a little biased about it.

After the wedding we moved on to Coronado Springs. I was not impressed with this resort at all. The rooms were dark and the whole place seemed to lack that Disney magic we all look for. However, parts of it were very pretty. Also, the taco salad at the Pepper Market was awesome.

Now, we are planning on going back but with 2 children in tow (DS 4 and DD 3 at time of travel). We are so unsure on what to do. We have considered Pop Century for the fun element. We have considered Boardwalk Inn because we will be there for our anniversary. We have considered Port Orleans Riverside for the Free Dining Plan. We have considered Animal Kingdom Lodge because my son loves animals.

We are all over the place with this. We want to try and keep the costs down but it will have been 3 years since our last visit and we want to make the most of it. We think we are going to go with the standard dining plan. My husband and I are both foodies but the children are still young and don’t really have the temperament for fine dining just yet.

We hope to go to the F & W at Epcot although, I am not sure how that will work with small children. We are hoping to eat somewhere nice for our anniversary but if we stay in the Boardwalk with a Fireworks view room we will probably have private dining and eat out on the balcony and the kids can enjoy themselves and we won’t have to worry about how well they are behaving. We would love to eat at the Cali Grill but are not sure whether that is a good idea or not.

So we are unsure which option to go for:-

Pop Century at Annual Pass rates (after purchasing said AP) with Dining Plan
Port Orleans with MYW tickets and Free Dining Plan
Boardwalk Villas on rented DVC points with either MYW tickets or Annual Pas and Dining Plan
Boardwalk Villas for 3 night (our anniversary) after purchasing DVC and getting discounted AP’s and purchasing Dining Plan then Pop Century on AP rates and Dining Plan

See I told you we are all over the place with this!!

Anyway, any advice would be great and also any tips on how to do Disney with young children would be great.

Also, we are interested in doing a Resort photo session. Firstly, as you can imagine I cannot decide which resort to do the photos at. I would love to do them at the Boardwalk but I understand that is not an option. Which resorts are an option? Are there any you would particularly recommend or avoid?

Am I right in thinking that if you have the $125 package you can add all of your photopass photos to the same cd?

So many questions!!

We always used to stay at the Contempory or Polynesian. One time we were booking a last minute trip and the only resort I could get for all of our nights was All Star Movies (they had a cancellation). I, relunctantly, took it. My kids loved it!!! Everytime we were booking a trip after that they wanted to stay there. They're now 25, 21, 18 & 16 and still have very fond memories of staying in the different parts of the resort there (DS's favorite was the Toy Story area while DD's liked the Dalmations). If your trying to pick a resort your kids will like I would go with Pop.

You two should decide what you most want, and choose that. The kiddos will love it ANYWHERE! They will not know the differences, and it is all fun and magical :)

Enjoy planning!

Very true, but Pop is really great for the kids. Mine loved it; it is whimsical, fun and they loved the large nostagic figures. :cheer2:

Have you considered staying at POP and upgrading to Regular Dining for $10 dollars a night? That is what I will do IF they offer free dining when I go next summer. My husband and I honeymooned at Wilderness Lodge and due to budget concerns we are doing POP with my 9 year old step-son and almost two year old daughter(at time of travel). This will be first time with kids but I've been doing extensive homework on our trip and I know you can take kids of almost any age to just about any show and just about any ride other than the thrill rides like roller coasters. Hope this helps a bit!

Wow, you guys really ARE all over the board!

My only piece of advice is that if you do the Port Orleans Riverside, change it to the Port Orleans French Quarter. We stayed at the Riverside and didn't like it. We felt so isolated from the lobby and pool area and really didn't even see anyone while we were there - it was just dead and desolate. It didn't feel very Disneyish. It was just odd. It felt like no mans land.

We actually took the boat up to the French Quarter and swam in their pool 2 nights and we were so sad we didn't book it. We actually asked about switching, but there was no availability. The pool was better, the vibe was better, it was like going from the empty house with the lights off to the party next door :). Since then, I've read so many reviews that say the French Quarter is a lot better, and I wholeheartedlly agree!

Wow, there really is a wide range of views here. As for Port Orleans, I was leaning towards POFQ but the reviews on here made it sound like PORS was the more fun lively one. I think I need to read up a bit more.

I am looking now at the following:-

First 5 Nights-PORS/POFQ-AP Rates with Dining Plan
Next 3 Nights-BWV-Rented DVC Points with Dining Plan
Next 3 Nights-Sarasota visiting family
Next 7 nights-Pop Century-AP Rate with Dining Plan
Last 3 Nights-AKL-AP rate with Dining Plan

Does this seem feasible to you? Is it hard swapping resorts? Can you carry your dining plan over to the next resort of do you have to use it up for each resort?

Go for it, the more resorts the merrier. The hotel staff should be able to arrange having your bags sent to the next resort you stay at.
The kids will love it anywhere and if you move they might get upset that they are leaving the resort that they got used too; especially, if they make friends at the pool.

That's a lot of moving around and packing and unpacking, which can be challenging with little ones. I couldn't do that. I'd pick 2 resorts, 1 to stay in before the Sarasota trip and 1 for after.

Also, if you do switch resorts, keep in mind that the day you switch, you are pretty much "homeless" since you need to check out by 11:00 and your new room may not be ready until 3:00 or 4:00.

We did a split stay once (OKW & AKL) when our kids were 4 & 2 and it was a pain in the neck. I won't do that again until my kids are much older - like when they're able to pack their own stuff and no longer take naps.

Good luck with your decision and have a fun trip! :goodvibes
