#10 of my Top 10 MK Favorites

Of course, the beautiful Cinderella Castle! Except, when I was little, I thought it was Cinderella's Castle so I was bound and determined to stay there and live with her forever. Here's what the WDW website has to say about it:

"Cinderella Castle is the iconic fairy-tale fortress that serves as the gateway to Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom theme park. It is not only one of the central icons of Walt Disney World Resort, but its romantic beauty has also come to represent all of the Walt Disney Company.

The castle is located in the heart of Magic Kingdom theme park—just above the central hub of the Park. Many Guests catch their first glimpse of the castle from Main Street, U.S.A. When you first see the soaring spires, ornate turrets and shimmering moat, you know you've left the world of today and entered a magical new land full of fun and fantasy.

While it may be initially startling to see a medieval castle rising 190 feet into the sky at the end of a street right out of classic small-town America, the dream-like magic of the contrasting images captures the promise of the enchanted adventures awaiting you.

Step inside Cinderella Castle, and it's like you're walking into a fairy tale come true. The castle is as beautiful inside as it is on the outside. Inspect an amazingly detailed mosaic mural—including tiles made of real 14-karat gold—and enjoy vignettes from the 1950 Disney animated classic, Cinderella. The mural contains one million pieces of glass in approximately 500 different colors.

Also inside the castle, families are invited to dine like royalty at Cinderella's Royal Table.

Inspirations for Cinderella Castle

A variety of real and fictional castles served as inspiration for Cinderella Castle—including Fontainebleau, Versailles and the chateaus of Chenonceau, Chambord and Chaumont. The chief designer of Cinderella Castle, Disney Legend Herb Ryman, also referenced the original design for the castle in the film Cinderella and his own well-known creation—Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park in California.

Views Beyond the Magic Kingdom Berm

Guests lucky enough to be staying at one of the Resort hotels surrounding the Seven Seas Lagoon—Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa—can enjoy views of Cinderella Castle from the grounds of their Resort, and in some select cases, even from their rooms.

If you've ever wanted to end the perfect day with the perfect final vision of fireworks exploding above Cinderella Castle, be sure to ask for a Disney Resort Hotel room with a view of the castle when making your reservations. It's an experience you will treasure forever!"

And now I'll just share a few of my bazillion Castle pics:

If you can think of another one for me to do, I'll gladly start that. Otherwise, I need to do something else to hold us over until the week before the trip. Then, I'll be doing "A week from now, we'll be...".

How about going through your ADRs and telling us what you think you'll be eating... or did you do that already? I might be losing it. :confused3

Or do you do that when you do your 1 month from now posts? :confused3

I'd like to hear about ADR's too. Not sure if you have told us yet?

What else do you have left to do before you go?

I can't believe it's finally next month! :woohoo: The long wait is almost over!! I hope we can figure out a way to run into each other..even for a few minutes..before you guys leave!

Haha, you know me too well Tim. I completely forgot about doing updates about my ADR's! I will definately start doing that tomorrow! :)

What else do you have left to do before you go?

I did mention my ADR's once I made them back in September, but I am going to go through them one by one and talk about what looks good on the menu. :surfweb:

I really need to start getting our suitcases together. I have made a packing list, so I'm done with that. I also need to start wearing my new tennis shoes around the house to get them broken in.

I like this idea. Maybe I'll steal it as my trip gets closer.

It's fun! You'll have to do it!

What about souvenirs you have your eyes on. ADRs are good!

Nighttime entertainment stuff you're doing outside of park time??

I did one of my top tens on favorite resorts and restaurants...you could do that! Or stores...
