Woo-hoo! Go Wild!!!
My ds7 is beside himself because he loves the Wild, but his favorite player is Peter Forsberg! He can't decide who to root for!

Ted and Holly_ I can't believe I'm saying this (I'm NOT a MInnesota fan usually as I graduated from Iowa but here goes)

Go Gophers!!!

YOU'LL be eating your words :) Gotta love competition on these things!!!

Minn played a GREAT game! Congrats to the Gopher fans.

I sure wish UNH showed up for more than one period though. :(

Hey, at least Coach Dick won't retire now. He needs to win a Championship first. :)

The Minnesota Wild is the NHL team. The Minnesota Gophers are the NCAA Champions in Ice Hockey for the second year in a row. And, looking at the roster, they might be back next year looking for a three-peat.

BTW, we have a great Stanley Cup thread going at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=354925

You will see that I've picked the Wild to win their series. But, if you look at my other predictions, you might not be happy with me!

Whoa! Thanks Scott! I was completely messed up with this whole thing!

Well, the Gophers are good. :)

I can't comment on the Wild.

Speaking of wild...students at UNH had quite a time Saturday night. My daughter is a Freshman at UNH and was home for the weekend. When I saw the news, I was glad she wasn't on campus. Students gathered on the main street and broke windows, threw beer cans and bottles, and generally trashed the place. About 87 students were arrested and several police officers were hurt. I can't understand why students feel the need to wreck their own campus and cause such a mess. Disappointing to hear about such immature behavior.

Nice to know that the MAJORITY of students were not involved. The Wildcats did well to go so far. Congratulations, Minnesota!

I would be surprised if Minnesota didn't have a bit of this. Anytime you get a bunch of people together with an event like this, you have a chance of this happening.

I had heard on the news that the Durham police and the UNH security were getting ready for this. They say this often. They just aren't equipped to handle these situations.

I remember back in my time there, a couple campus-wide snowball fights that ended in 100s of broken windows, injuries, and an eventual police response on the lawn of the president's office (Thompson Hall).

Luckily, it is quite easy to avoid these incidents. Even if she was there, she could have been quite safe in most of Durham. These problems mostly occur in the immediate downtown area (about 200 feet of road). The dorm area are normally not affected.

But yes, it is immature.

I just wanted to clarify that I did know the difference but HAD to reply to the UNH thing too.
;)

GO WILD!!!
