Dont you love saving a buck or two OR five?
Last night I was @ Frys grocery store. I bought some cereal that was on sale for $1.88 a box. I got 2 boxes (those honeycomb strawberry flavor) b/c everyone likes it dry.
I got out to the car and went over my receipt and noticed I did not get my cereal on sale. I was full price of $3.89. Funny thing is, the bill was over $400 and I had it down to $226. A lot of meat, juice, soda, lunch meat, cheese, bread, toiletries ect How I found those 2 items I am like a hawk I tell ya!
So of course me, being me, calls from the parking lot (I have issues with my legs, hence if I was wrong, I didnt want to walk back in) and confirmed the sale price.
I ended up getting $5.15 back *and* a free box of cereal valued at $3.89 (of course it was on sale LOL).
My husband and son HATE it when I do this :/ Were not hurting for money by any means but I love looking for good deals especially on products we like. My son could not believe I went back in for $5.15! (Actually it was more then that. I ended up w/over $1.50 in change on top of my .15 the manager said take it the last people didnt take their change). She insisted I take the free box of cereal with me. Gotta love excellent customer service.
Of course my husband sat IN the car . He claims he had to guard the groceries. Ummmm okkkk Why do men hate it when women do this? And then after the fact he snagged my $5!
I told my son I was going to frame the $5.15 and the box of cereal and hang it on his wall *lol* (he is 14). He still wasnt impressed. *humph* I love finding even .50 mistakes. I stink at math so I amaze myself when I do this, finding even the smallest errors.
Oh and then!! I have some Frys gift cards my mom sent them at Christmas. So the guy scans one $26 on it. Ok. Scans the next. Says nothing is on it. I said hmmm normally I do not keep empty GC. So he scans it again . Not only did it pay the remainder of my bill. I had $280 left on the card!
It was almost funny b/c he was razzing the box boy about not doing a good job *heheheee*
