Well, we're back. I'll update this thread with some details for our trip, but here are some highlights:
- After fireworks were canceled on our first night in the parks, on a day when we did not take an afternoon break, we were walking down Main Street toward the exits when the "snow" started and "White Christmas" began to play. DD4 was riding on my shoulders (which she did a lllllllot), and she began bawling. DW and I thought, "Uh oh, here comes a too-tired meltdown..." and my DW asks DD4 "What's wrong, honey?" DD4 says (in-between sobs) "I'm... so... HAPPY... unhuh, unhuh, unhuhhhhhhhhh". The next night, when we sorta caught the fireworks, she did it again. It's the highlight of the trip.
- The free WIRED Internet access in the HoJo room is provided via a connection on the nightstand in-between the beds (where the phone is, which makes sense). But the Cat5 cable is only about two feet long, so you basically have to put your laptop on the nightstand, sit on the bed, and turn to the side to type. It was very awkward. I would have loved to be at the desk across the room. If you have your own 12-foot Cat5 cable, and a coupler with two female ends, you might want to bring it.
- I scored 100,300 on my one and only trip to Buzz
Awww, your DD4's tears ("I'm... so... HAPPY... unhuh, unhuh, unhuhhhhhhhhh") nearly made me cry! That sort of thing makes the trip worth any amount of money.
I giggled at the laptop cable issue. We were at the DLH, and the connection is near the desk... which in our room is always cluttered with a phone, lamp, menus and other information, recently purchased souvenirs, my journal and guidebook, etc. So I always dragged the laptop across the room to the nearest bed. You really CAN'T make everyone happy.
Nice score! No matter well (or poorly) I do, DH's is always higher. I knew I was doomed when DS3's score surpassed mine.
Darn, I'm only on post #47, but
must wrap presents (like I said I was doing an hour ago...) Will have to come back to this later.
