Gnomes Gnomes on the Range!

Not really -- I appear to be in a book drought lately. After finishing the three books in The Hunger Games series (which I cannot recommend enough), I have been reading the same book for two weeks. I like it, but it's just not as engrossing as what I was reading before.

Gnomies, I have to vent for a minute about one of my colleagues. I have to eat lunch with her every day, and she drives me nuts!!! I swear, I don't think she has ANY social skills whatsoever. She monopolizes the conversation and most of the time what she talks about, the rest of us could care less about. Today she really ticked me off when she started going on about how she doesn't make her gifted kids work in groups if they don't want to. I turned to her and said, "But one day they are going to have to know how to work together in the real world." Her response? "They are going to be the bosses anyway."



Last time I checked even management needed to know how to play well with others.

Anyway, can you tell I was really bugged by her today?

My jaw dropped to my desk when I read that. Oh my goodness! Totally clueless.

Have you read The Tea Rose, Jackie? It was really good and there is a second book, The Winter Rose. Set in England, late 1800's, really good.

Oh, yes, The Hunger Games and its sequels Catching Fire and Mokingjay are among my favorite books of the year!

NAH! they can become administration at our high school I think it's good I'm not a "real" teacher because when I heard how the last 2 staff meetings have gone, I'm not sure I could stomach it. Basically the principals are blaming all the school's problems on the teachers

Blake and I are off to see Disney on Ice: Toy Story 3! I'm excited, I found a $7/person coupon, so tickets were only $10 a piece! Perfect for our budget. and they just announced today that the Lion King is coming to Norfolk in December, we saw it in NYC back in 2007, but LOVED it, so might be hitting that one again, especially since we're not going to make it to Disney this christmas, first time since we've been together.

HMMMMM...Jackie your fellow teacher sounds special in so many ways!! Thankfully I'm at a school were we all seem to get along teachers and administration!!! I just wish I could get use to all the walkthroughs!

has not been a good start.

Left my nook on the plane.... which is why I'm now online because I need to unregister it... in case someone just decided to keep it and not turn it in.

then we check in... and they already charged my credit card for the dining plan.... since I did online checkin

The last 3 trips... I paid 'cash' via a gift card when i got here

Now I have an extra $700 expense i didn't budget for... cause I can't get a refund on the stupid gift cards.

grrrr... i hope it gets better... but it looks like storms all afternoon and evening.
