Just saw Gnomeo and Juliet yesterday. I thought it was quite a cute movie, that doesn't try to be more than it is, a retelling of R and J. It's a "b level" Disney (Touchtone) movie, but I found there to be quite a few "parent level" jokes to keep me entertained.
As for my kids, my daughters loved it. Ciara especially liked the fact that "the girl kicked some good butt, and stood up for herself" (her words not mine). Guess this sort of relates back to the helpless Princess discussion earlier.
Brendan liked it too, so I'd recommend it for the whole family. 7/10 from me, 8/10 from my kids.
