Gluten free French quarter stay

Hi everyone

Posting my review to hopefully help someone else

I had stayed at French quarter back before covid and back when I could eat gluten We loved the food and the small quaint feel of the resort. So I’m not sure if this is a gf only issue

While I love the theme here, I cannot say the same about the food. It is the worst gluten free food I’ve had on Disney property

As I’m sure everyone knows about the gf beignets, I’m not sure if they were just WAY too hyped up but they were….ok…..not bad, not great, but ok. You can ONLY get coffee at scat cats which is where the beignets are so be prepared to wait 20+mins for a coffee. If you need dairy free like me, you are stuck with a cold cup of coffee. Not an iced coffee, a cold coffee, like one that sat out too long and then you had to drink it……the machine can only do dairy?? So they have to pour in cold dairy free milk. I will be emailing a complaint about this one

The chefs and the entire culinary team are wonderful! Everyone was so kind and truly cared about keeping my food safe. I just didn’t love it, it reminded me of cafeteria school lunch food. We ended up going to Disney springs for all of our meals (aside from breakfast, that was ok) it really put a damper on the trip to have to leave to get good food. It was inconvenient and I ended up paying a lot more for food at DS

I hope this info helps someone else! We’ve been coming to Disney a long time but wouldn’t stay here again solely bc of food. Everything else was amazing, probably the nicest staff I’ve ever had

I may be missing something, but why can’t you get coffee at the food court? I am also gluten-free and I had an almost inedible chicken sandwich when I was there. I didn’t even eat it. There was some shrimp and grits thing there that was decent. Except for breakfast, we barely ate there. I have to admit, I love the beignets, or maybe it’s the cocktail that I have with them when I eat them.

I may be missing something, but why can’t you get coffee at the food court? I am also gluten-free and I had an almost inedible chicken sandwich when I was there. I didn’t even eat it. There was some shrimp and grits thing there that was decent. Except for breakfast, we barely ate there. I have to admit, I love the beignets, or maybe it’s the cocktail that I have with them when I eat them.

oh noooo that’s where they told me to go for coffee, maybe because I needed dairy free milk? I’m not sure. We ended our trip with 2 nights at pop century and I can highly recommend them for delicious food and lattes with warm milk!
