Has anyone sailed recently who could offer their opinions on gluten-free dining on the Wish? Just trying to get a sense of the offerings. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of my moms meals…

Sensitivity not allergy…I know she got GF pizza at Daisy’s pizzeria at one point. At the MDRs they’d bring her GF bread service and the menus do have a designation of what items are GF as well

I would believe that the Wish would be like all the other ships in the fleet. Just be sure to note the gluten-free requirement on your reservation. That way they can have enough proper food stuffs onboard.

DW is gluten free. She routinely orders the next night’s menu for the next day’s dinner in the MDRs, selecting from among the identified GF options. She also gets GF rolls and a separate serving of butter (to avoid cross contamination). Sometimes, she will ask if it’s possible to modify a selection where it’s obvious why it’s not GF, such as a salad without croutons. For breakfast and some lunches, we usually eat in whichever of the MDRs is open for ordering off the day’s menu. She does not usually pre-order breakfast or lunch, and has had no problem getting a cooked-to-order breakfast that is GF. She also gets GF muffins or donuts at breakfast. I we don’t eat lunch in the MDR, she will consult with the head server on pool deck duty in selecting GF options from the various fast food stations. Hamburgers or hot dogs with GF buns, french fries, GF pizza, the barbecue on the Wish, chicken fingers, and soft serve ice cream in a cup are among the options she enjoys. It is possible to eat GF at the buffet as well, but the time involved to consult with a head server or chef can make it take as long as eating in the MDR instead, so we usually avoid the buffet.

Thank you, this is very helpful. It's good to know that there is a lot of variety and options! Does she comment on if the food is tasty and does the food quality match what everyone else is offered on the ship?

GF food quality has been comparable to my choices in the MDRs, Palo, and on the pool deck. If we’re both eating pizza, I sometimes think her GF, made-to-order individual pie is better than the quick-serve option, and I help her finish up the leftover slice since she won’t eat the entire thing. I think her chicken fingers are definitely better, with a lighter (corn meal based?) crust compared to the regular version. The GF dessert options sometimes fall short, since DW is not a fan of crème brûlé or flourless chocolate cake. She frequently reverts to ice cream with a simple topping or a Mickey Bar.

Excellent, exactly what I was hoping to hear. And I happen to love crème brûlé and flourless chocolate cake, so I suspect I'll be quite happy! Thank you again!

My DH is celiac and he had no issues eating Gluten Free on the Wish. He ate at Marceline Market, the BBQ place and in the main dining rooms. He didn't pre order the next night's dinner because he always found the main menu to have enough choices. He can tell rather quickly if he accidentally gets any gluten, and he was fine. It was a good experience.
