1) are there gluten free dining options at Sea World and Discovery Cove. I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free foods.

2) my son is too young for the dolphin swim at Discovery Cove. Is it still fun if we skip it? We have already interacted with dolphins twice with my daughter and once with my son while on cruise excursions. I know they would love to do it again but since he will be 5 when we go, he is too young. And I can't allow one and not the other unless I want to ruin our trip lol.

You can contact DC directly to speak with someone regarding food allergies, requests etc. I found this on their website:
Additional Vegan, Dairy Free and Gluten Free menus are available upon request. Please send your inquiry to
DCO-GuestRelations@discoverycove.com.

As far as going without the dolphin swim? Yes, I think it would still be lots of fun for your family :) There really is so much to see and do. The dolphin swim really only takes about 45 minutes of your day anyway. On our last trip, we were there from opening to closing. I think we would have stayed longer if allowed!

I know it's been a couple of weeks but I can chime in with gluten free at DC. We were there in October. I spoke with a chef before breakfast and he went through safe options for me (I have other allergies besides wheat) I was able to have bacon, eggs, sausage, yogurt and fruit. They also had Rice Chex cereal.

He told me to come find him for lunch. I had salmon and roasted veggies that he got from the back. He also brought out fruit for dessert. They had Rich's brownies (which were amazingly good) and Divvie's jelly beans for safe snacks (you have to get them from the cafe - not from the snack carts). There were ice cream and popsicles that were safe as well.

Wanted to give my 2 cents about how helpful the chefs are at DC. My son has 3 different food allergies and when we checked in, I told the person at the counter - they gave me a form to fill out and to hand over at the restaurant. At lunchtime, the chef immediately came out and discussed with my son (who was only 8!) what would he like for lunch, gave him kid-friendly suggestions and made him his own meal and brought out allergy-free desserts to our table afterwards (for both my DS & non-allergic DD). We were so impressed, we talked to the head of the restaurant to give our praise.

Thank you all for your responses. But we are no longer going to Discovery Cove and Sea World as we will be foster parents to my infant nephew.
