Gluten Free at resort counter service locations?

We've had no problems getting gluten free meals for DD4 at table service locations, as well as counter service in the parks. We've never tried this at counter service locations at the resorts. Are they able to accomodate and how is the variety? Just wondering if we'll be able to get the usual gluten free kid optionsthat we've found in the parks...pancakes or waffles, pizza, mac & cheese, chicken tenders...French Meadow cookies. We're staying at Contemporary/BLT (DVC) in October and would like to eat at Contempo Cafe throughout our stay, and also try other CS on the monorail loop...Poly and Grand Floridian. Contempo Cafe's ordering is done through a kiosk...I'm guessing we can just ask for a cast member/chef to order. Any experiences with Contempo Cafe or other resort CS? Thanks!!

IF you have not already contacted WDW's special diet department, I would suggest you try that. They can give you information about where/how to get the foods you need.
Post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread has contact information and some past threads that may be helpful (although keep in mnd that Disney can chang products/suppliers so a food that was safe on one trip may not be safe on the next trip).

We've stayed at 3 resorts (Pop, SSR and for 2 days CBR) with multiple food intollerances including gluten. All of them have been very accomodating. The options were much greater at Pop but I would have expected that since the options for regular food are also so much greater. My daughter ate waffles and chicken fingers at all 3 locations. They all carried gluten free bread and pasta as well as desserts (I think at SSR we had to ask for the brownies but the other two had them out where anybody could just grab them; yes they're individually wrapped). Foods change, but I do feel confident that whatever resort you're eating at, there will be plenty of options.

Contact Brenda as suggested. If you'll be eating multiple meals at your resort then I suggest you ask Brenda to have a chef from the resort food court contact you to discuss just what they can/will have available. The chef will also be able to tell you the preferred procedure for ordering at that particular resort food court. Yes you can just ask anybody to go get a chef, but it tends to be faster if you go where they suggest.

I just got back from a recent trip and we stayed AKL. At the Mara they had divvies for the "special diets" section, but I did not see any French Meadow stuff. That was slightly frustrating for me, since divvies aren't gluten free. I'm sure that you will be OK if you fill out the form Brenda Bennett sends you, and if you get her list of places and the items most often stocked at certain places you should be ok. Of course, at the Mara, I still had to ask for the chef, but they are very helpful.

You could always stock up on brownies and cookies at Main Street Bakery and then keep on them on hand, if you can't find the French Meadow brand at the hotel.
