GLOW II: The Bounceback... Multiple Meets!!!.. First 1/2 of Sept 2008

in the mail today So I guess I'm officially going!!! They actually screwed up the DME vouchers, only came in my name. But I called & they re-sent with Katie and me listed. The WDTC stuff still has it wrong but I have a voucher in the DME package for her and WDTC shows her on the ressie, just not the DME, so I think I'm good.

I've been packing travel size stuff for a week now!!! and, see my ticker? tomorrow its gonna say 1 month til bouncing back at POFQ!!!!

Oh, and dummy here just realized (I think I saw this before and just FORGOT!!) that Friday 9/5 when we are planning EMH at Epcot, ALL of the other parks are either closed (AK at 5PM) or closing for a hard ticket event (MNSSHP and NOJ!!) Epcot is going to be SWAMPED!!!! Damn, gotta get a plan B!!!

On the party front, what can we do to contribute? Or is it just a byo whatever? We did a glowgranny.com order this week, so I'm all set there.

Pooch, now that is why I never take anyone's plans, including mine, seriously until near departure time and then you still have to make allowances. I had planned to leave EPCOT right after our meal at Coral Reef (is that still on your plans? I kept my GG ressies just in case) Maybe that would be a great night to head over to Jellyrolls? Just a thought.

BTW, am I going to have a problem as I made the ressies in my name and my husband's since I did not know who was going to be going with me and I have not bothered to change them, mostly because you never know if something might come up with Lucy as well. So much to learn, so little time to do it in.

SG, just keep the #'s handy. Sometimes they get confused at the stand and can't find your name, but they can always find the confirmation #.

FF, when I do my agenda I always have my ADR's complete with number handy but what I am worried about is checking in at the resort with someone other than my husband since I have his name down on the ressie. Boy, that did not sound good when I read it back to myself. YOU know what I mean.

Got your PM--thanks! Check will go out today. As for BYO, I didn't just mean alcohol (though that does help with the glow, lol). I was assuming with all the free DDP no one would be trying to bring a bunch of poolside snacks, but didn't want to be the only one showing up empty handed.

Ah Miss Linda. Always good for a chuckle. I'd call and let them know that you may be leaving the ball and chain, uh, husband at home and bringing a hot, young stud, uh, girlfriend instead and ask if you can change him to her on the reservation. I've heard it's no problem to change names but if they give you any grief, just tell them you're not sure yet, then deal with it at check in. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Yeah, I always laugh when they send you that little "helpful hints" brochure with like, 3 lines for ADR's. Those are for amateurs--folks like us need the professional version, powered by Excel, printed out on cardstock, inserted into a protective plastic sleeve and put into a binder, LOL.

Getting closer--who's the first to hit the road? I know we're one of the last, flying in and arriving on the 5th, but aren't some of you drivers leaving in just a couple of weeks?

Ah, you were the one going to Vero Beach. If you don't mind, I may have to bend your ear about it at Scat Cat's, since I'm thinking about it for a trip for December 2009. We're doing a family cruise out of Miami just after New Year's, and I was thinking VB might be a nice stop on the way down from WDW (if we go to WDW first--yeah right, if ).

What does everyone think about the free DDP rumors for next year--that it will be the "Quick Service" option of 2 CS, 2 snacks & a refillable mug? Would anyone book a bounceback for that? Or would everyone upgrade to the regular or deluxe DDP, if those options were available?

Free DDP was just released for UK guests, and it sounds like they're being offered QS at moderates, and regular DDP for deluxes, so they may be going to a "tiered" system for free DDP.

this is our 2nd trip to Vero and DH's favorite part of our vacation I will be glad to share our experience's.

I'm not happy with DDP being tier'd, but I have to admit that it is a smart idea and will open up the TS restaurants again to those trying to make ressie's. I will still book Value and upgrade later OOP ($10) rather then paying Rack rate at a MOD or DELUX.. just my 2 cents

We're still on for Coral Reef on 9/5 as far as I'm concerned !!! Katie really wants to see the Red Sox game that night (starts at 8PM) so I'm thinking about giving up on Illuminations and heading to ESPN for her.

Guess we'll decide that night.

And I do agree, There is a nice little stand in France that is a lovely place to grab something cool and refreshing

Kelli, going to Cirque is one of the few acceptable explanations you could have for not coming to our meet on the 10th. I am cheap as can be and think that is dollars well spent. No bad seats to be had and I do believe the cheap seats are better than the high priced ones. I will hold a seat for you at Spectro on the 8th. Are you interested in eating at Tony's? I have ressies for 4 that night.

Pooch, Pooh's party is at Mickey's and I plan to ride the bus over to eat and then they are going to meet afterward at the MK for EMH at Pirates.

I have made a line item column for who is coming in when and where they are staying as well as who might be in the same park as me on any given day. I need all the help I can get.

Back to cleaning under the washer and dryer today. Fun never ends. Great job for those with a heart condition too. Elizabeth, here I come!!!
