DD has a poster project for school. She is coloring the poster kind of tie dye like with oil pastels. She plans to cut letters out with the cricut. We'll use good cardstock. The letters are required to be 4 inches high. She wants to glitter the letters in black. We bought tulip fashion glitter because it was the only black we could find. It is not chunky at all, rather fine.

Question: Should we xyron the the letters? Or a use thin layer of mod podge podge for the glitter?

Question 2: Once the letters are glittered, do you think my ATG tape would be good for adhering the letters to the oil pastel covered poster? If not, what would you suggest?

Thanks for your help.

I would xyron the letters- it would be easier than anything else for the glitter. Afterwards i am not sure but you can try one with the ATG and if that doesn't work I would go for glue dots- you can use the crafts ones though.

You may need to take q-tips and rub away some of the pastel where you want the sticky to go.

Thanks for th replies. THe xyron worked great with the glitter (except that there is glitter everywhere:rotfl2:) Nothing is working on the oil pastels. I always do things the hard way:sad1:. We are adhering it all with brads. It's going to take a while...

Brads are a great idea! I know it's hard work, but better get it right now than have it fall apart later. Last year my daughter did a project where she covered the board with fabric. Then she used my glue dots to attach the papers -- they worked that evening when we shook it, etc. But the next morning everything was falling off! We had to grab a stapler and go to work, it didn't look as good and we couldn't get all the corners. I wish we had thought of brads at the right time.
