Glasses at Waterparks?

Hi Folks,
I'm new to Disney's water parks and we're going to TL in Sept. Can I wear my eyeglasses on slides and such? I normally wear them with a strap at our local (exceedingly lame and without any rules or restrictions) park, but I just read there's no metal allowed on slides.
Anyone have experience with glasses at the water parks?
Thanks!

I wore mine on most of the slides. I wasn't allowed on the fast ones. Not sure if they just didn't pay attention of if it was actually allowed

I wore my sunglasses on all of the rides we did a TL. In some cases I held them in my hand.

When it says no metal allowed on slides, it means things like metal buckles on swimsuits.

They will let you wear glasses on most rides, but the very fast speed slide one they made me take them off. I have velcro pocket in my trunks os I stowed them there. I wear Rx sunglasses and without them I would barely be able to navigate the park!

Yes you can wear them. They wont deprive anyone of the ability to see. Just do make sure to get a strap to hold them to your head.

Yes - because those can damage the slides all the way down. Hopefully, the glasses will never touch the sides of the slides :)

This is a great question! I am a glasses wearer myself (I cannot navigate without them) and generally feel that the water parks are not very friendly for those of us with vision challenges, this applies to all water parks in general, not just Disney water parks.. IMHO I normally avoid water parks for this sole reason..

Be careful in the wave pool. I got pummeled by a HUGE wave; my prescription sunglasses went flying; and when I surfaced, someone had found them and luckily returned them to me.

You can wear them for the most part just not on the fast slides. I tend to not wear mine in the water, but I feel like I miss out on so much. Since dropping mine in the blue lagoon in Iceland, I've been even more hesitant! However a strap does put my mind at ease about it. Next time I'll be taking an old pair (ever so slight difference in pres') so I can see what's going on but not feel terrified of loosing or damaging my glasses. However my prescription Ray Ban shades are not going near a pool!

I'm considering getting contacts just for this reason but I'm so scared of putting something in my eyes!!

Why not get a cheap pair of prescription goggles as well? I got a pair online for about £15 and they are a godsend. I'm a danger to myself without my glasses, I can't see further than about 2ft before my vision blurs, so I need to have either my glasses or my goggles on to feel safe.
