Giving Santa his Mickey ears! Our toddler's 1st trip!-UPDATE:We're back! Pic inside

I like the pictures. Looks like you guys are having a good time just going at your own pace.

And I know that this was an off_disney day, but, also when I look at the pics, I see Radiator Springs.

So true, except no mountains in the distance! My husband loves to take pics of abandoned (modern ruins) urban area or old signs etc. I was in the car while he was taking a pic of the Sands' sign when an 'hourly worker' asked him if he was interested in her services. The look on his face was priceless as he came running back to the car. I wish I had the camera at that point. :rotfl2:

Apparently I am an underachiever, because I never created a spreadsheet like that. :guilty: It looks so fun, though!

If you're going to take a break on your DHS day anyway, I'd say try Kouzzina. I love Greek food, though, and the reviews I've read on Mama Melrose's have been "meh."

On your Epcot day... I don't know how your OK your DD is with being off her normal schedule, but what worked best for us was keeping DS' routine as intact as possible. That meant lunch at noon-ish, then rest (sometimes in the stroller, sometimes back at the resort).

Yay for 'Ohana. I am dying to try that one, too. Next time! ;)

Thanks!! It's looking more and more like we will do Kouzinna! Hoping you stay with me on here for my PTR because I am going to need your expertise!! :flower3:

If the Mayans are right, I am going to be seriously PO'd! We are scheduled to arrive in WDW on December 21st!

Well, if the Mayans are right, at least let it happen AFTER we've enjoy a Dole Whip or Mickey bar!

Thanks for the info on Mount Dora. I have never heard of it before but I love your pictures and descriptions.

But now "Back Pack, Back Pack" is running through my head and won't leave!!!

So true!! Thanks for the sweet compliment btw. I can assure you that I was not paid by the Mt. Dora Chamber of Commerce.

I'm thinking/hoping to go in December too, so I'm going to follow along, just to get me back into the Disney spirit.

It seems you've already decided, but I have done the Wishes Dessert Party twice and loved it. Dessert!!

So happy to have you join me!! Hope you get to go in December too!!

I hear you about the Wishes Party. We will definitely do one during a future visit! I just don't think I can pass up a Mickey Christmas party!

Subbing in!! Lovely family!! My son will also be two on our next trip :cloud9:

LOVE your couture ears!

My son was 19 months on his first trip and will be almost 2.5 on our next. Here is our experience on the rides you asked about.

MK:
-Barnstormer (now Great Goofini) - height req 2 ft 11 in

Didn't ride this - wasn't open yet.
-Pirates
He rode this with no issues really. The super dark areas of the ride freaked him about a bit, but since he was still nursing and that comforted him, we just nursed through the darkest areas. On the other hand, it scared his almost 3yr old sister to death....
-Jungle Cruise
We didn't ride this last time
-Tomorrowland Speedway
He loved this!!!
-Haunted Mansion
Again, the "ghosts and gouls" didn't scare him, but the dark did.
-Astro Orbiter
He rode this - no issues at all.

DHS:
-Great Movie Ride (concerned about the shoot out scene)
No issues at all here - the shooting didn't seem to bother him
-Toy Story (even just for the ride, not to play)
He loved loved loved this! I gave him my gun and let him "play"

EPCOT:
-Ellen's Energy ride (concerned about length of ride)
We didn't do this
-Turtle Talk w/ Crush
He adored this!
-Maelstrom
Same as above - dark scared him a bit - we nursed through this whole ride

AK:
-Kilimanjaro Safaris
He loved this but it was hard to have him remain seated but able to see good...
-Nemo/Lion King live shoes (concerned that show length might be too long)
We missed these last time :(

Here is our experience with MVMCP too! Unfortunately, it wasn't great... BUT that was all my fault. We didn't have a party game plan nor did we take a rest during the middle of the day... The kids were WIPED out... This year we will do 2-3 hours mid-afternoon to REST and then do the party with a game plan!! http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=43893516&postcount=38

Thanks so much for your feedback about the rides. I know every kid is different. So curious how my DD will be come the time we are at the World!

Will definitely go read about your Party experience. I am planning to do a big long break that afternoon so hopefully she can enjoy a good part of the party! :santa:

Great report, congrats on the 6 months out! I'm jealous!
I agree with DsnyMama - absolutely go to MVMCP but have a long nap before hand!
PS - the world better not end because we still have 438 days until our trip! ;)

Good luck with your ADRs!! Hope you get all the ones you wanted. :goodvibes

If the world ends, let me at least have a dole whip in one hand and a Mickey bar in the other. :lmao: I was so set again going to MVMCP and now I am super excited. Don't tell anyone, but if DD does fall asleep early and it is too difficult with the stroller and all that, my awesome DH has volunteered to leave the party and go put her to bed, so I can stay till closing. I got me a good guy.

Good luck with your ADRs!! Hope you get all the ones you wanted. :goodvibes

Hooray for ADR day! Can't wait to hear what ressies you made!

My ADR 180 is Tuesday. Setting the alarm for 6am, unless DD wakes me before that!

Ohh, please pass me some popcorn. I was just watching THOR. After seeing the Avengers, I decided I needed to devote a night to Thor. He is yummy. :thumbsup2

Wish me luck!! Tomorrow I will be dutifully in front of this very laptop making my ADRs. Hoping to get the times I want!! We shall see!

Today's my birthday, so hopefully there will be pixie dust during ADR time! :wizard: Having a great one today. Enjoyed an awesome massage at a local spa. This momma needed it big time! Off to go fill up on some chocolate cake and watch the season finale of Mad Men.
