I'm a dork, but I had no idea you could view Spectro from Tony's! Can someone give me the skinny on it? The night we eat there, we have 5:20 ressies and Spectro is at 7:00. If we're seated outside, think it's possible to stretch out the meal? Do you really have a good view of Spectro from it? What's the secret to getting an outdoor table?

TIA!

I don't believe in "stretching out" a meal for the purpose of watching a parade. Someone else who planned carefully to make sure their ressies are during the parade wouldn't appreciate having to miss the parade while waiting for the table they had adr's for. Just my opinion.

And I, of course, thank you for your opinion. You just never know. We could experience a wait and legitimately be dining at that time. If there's even a possibility of seeing the parade in conjunction with this meal, I have to try for it. And if our meal moves along quickly two things will happen. 1. We'll step outside and watch it from the curb. 2. Someone else will get a beautiful outdoor table where they can see it.

Sooo for anyone who has seen Spectro from Tony's, any secrets to getting an outdoor table? And is the view from that table a good viewing spot?

I haven't been there for Spectro but I'm pretty sure the view isn't that great. I'm sure someone else will know for sure. Here's another thought. What we did was go up the stairs to the main street train station platform. There's a few chairs up there. It's nice to sit and you're above everyone so there's no chance of having your view obstructed.

When we ate at Tony's, the parade route was standing room only around that area, and you couldn't really see anything from the restaurant...

hello,
Just a note for those of us who are trading and giving away ADR's - Disney dining is now having the original reservation cancelled and rebooking (if available) in the next parties name. The best bet, to not lose the reservation, is to just give the party who you are trading or transfering to your last name and conf #, unless of course it is a credit card location. I don't know how everyone has handles this in the past, but wanted to pass along the info.

thanks !!!!

we were there last january. we didn't even ask for an outdoor table but were seated at one. i thought it might get too cold, but it was beautiful out on the patio. we were told by our waiter that the parade would be going by and we should stay. we had a perfect unobstructed view. some people came out from inside, but they don't let them stand in front of the tables. this was in january, so there probably wasn't anyone waiting for our table.

Maybe you already know this but Spectro starts at Town Square (which is opposite to the other parades). I love the spots right in front of the train station for parades. Upstairs is awesome but people stake those spots really early.
