Give me the scoop on the Haunted Hayride

Hi everyone! Just curious if anyone has ridden the Fort Wilderness Haunted Hayride...I had read somewhere that it was really neat and a little bit scary! Has anyone done this?

We couldn't get tickets! They sold all the tickets out for last 10/26 (a Saturday) in about 1/2 hour. We're going to try again this year, probably on a different evening.

We went on it a few years ago when our youngest DS was 6 weeks old. It was scary and they had "toned" it down a bit because of the baby. My oldest really enjoyed it as well as the adults.

You can buy tickets in front of the Guest Relations window at FW. We didn't have any problems getting tickets when we went. Try and get there early and then walk around a bit. FW is a great place.

Is this only on one night, or are there several nights it happens? Can you buy tickets in advance for it and is there somewhere we can call to ask more questions about it?

How much does the haunted hayride cost? How long does it last? What kind of scarey things are on the trail?

I just called WL and they said they do have a hayride, but it is not haunted.

The hayride goes all year and most of the year it is not haunted but in October they do juice it up! I have heard of it but would like more details too!

Take a Haunted Halloween Hayride at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
(Information based on 2002 events)


Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is featuring evening hayrides with a spooky twist during the Haunted Halloween Hayrides offered on Oct. 18, 19, 25, 26 and 28-31.

Don't expect the usually peaceful hayride that take guests through the dark woods around the resort nightly. The haunted hayrides will feature interactive spooks and surprises along the dark evening trail. Who knows what lurks around the next bend?

The 20-minute rides will depart every 30 minutes from Pioneer Hall. The first wagon leaves at 7:30 pm on Oct. 18 and 19 and the last wagon will leave at 10:00 p.m.

On Oct. 25 and 26, the first wagon leaves at 7:00 p.m., and the last wagon will leave at 10:00 p.m.

From Oct. 28-31, the first wagon leaves at 6:30 p.m., and the last wagon will leave at 10:00 p.m.

Ticket sales will begin one hour prior to the first ride, and tickets must be purchased at the departure location next to Pioneer Hall. Tickets prices are $8 a person. Children ages two and under ride free. No advance ticket sales are offered.

Please take note that rides may be cancelled due to inclement weather at any time.

Barbruka - These are the 2002 dates, so if you are going to be there the evening of the 17th, it may be going on during Friday the 17th for 2003.

I read that they added earlier dates for the MNSSHP ...so maybe they will add some extra Haunted Hayride days!! IM planning on going early in October! A nice Oct 3rd, lets say, hayride would be awesome!!!!

does anyone know if you can buy tickets say at 6:30 when they go on sale for a later ride like 9:00 pm? We are doing the hoop dee doo at 7:15 and I thought it would be fun to do afterwards.
