Give me the courage to cancel my double booking!

Made ressies for 6 at Teppan Edo on December 16th, the found out that my cousin and his family will be there at the same time. They wanted to eat dinner with us one night, so I made a ressie for 10 on the same night at Teppan Edo. My cousin seems a little laid-back about the whole dining reservation thing, so I'm scared that I'll cancel the ressie for 6, and then they will decide not to come to dinner. If we end up at Teppan Edo with ressies for 10, but only 6 of us show up, will they still take us?? Say yes, and I'll cancel the double booking right now ! BTW--I've got tremendous guilt about having a double booking, so no flames, please . --Katie

It is always easy to get seated with fewer people than your reservation has listed. Just tell them a few people couldn't make it. No biggie. Happens all the time.

Now go and cancel that double booking you big poopie head!

This just happened to our friends in June. We bailed on them for the whole week. (I was in the hospital having emergency surgery, so we have an excuse. )

Anyway... ALL their reservations for the week were for 7, but there were only 3 of them. They didn't have any problems anywhere. I think you'd be fine to just keep the ADR for a larger #.
