how about some input on the Big River Grill on the Boardwalk... we (husband and I) are going May 18-22 and I'm trying to pick one sit down to eat at while we are there...
in the past we have done

Coral Reef
Sci-Fi Theater
Crystal Palace
Garden Grill
'Ohanas
Hoop-de-doo
Rainforest Cafe

give me some suggestions please:confused:

I've always enjoyed it.

Their hazelnut crusted chicken is awesome. I never had a bad meal there.

My son had grilled mahi mahi sandwich and I had the ceasar salad with grilled mahi mahi -- both were outstanding. We also had the jalapeno spinach cheese dip and that was delicious too. Portions were a good size so we had no room for dessert. Service was excellent. This was September 2008.

Do you come from the future? ;)

(September 2007, you mean?)

I just went and looked at the menu and noticed that it said they won't accept ADR's.
Does this mean they are not very busy?
The menu looks great.. but I would hate to get there and wait for hours if I could have made an ADR somewhere.

sound yummy... does anyone know if they take ADR's the website linked from the top of this page says no, but then it says reservations suggested:confused3

If you are planning on being in the BW area I prefer the food at Spoodles. The Big River Grille had a great selection of beers, but the food was nothing special. If you go to the Big River Grille, take the outside seating if available. Much quieter, and watching all the BW happenings can be fun. Either way I think you will be fine, but if you're interested in a quiet escape from the parks and a better meal, I would go with Spoodles. Surprisingly both my teens preferred Spoodles as well.

Our experience at BRG hasn't been very good. Food is just OK, service is very poor. If beer is your main interest then its probably OK. But otherwise, there are lots of better places to eat.

That's about how I see it also. Even the meatloaf has gone downhill, leaving just the burgers as pretty decent fare.

I think Spoodles costs more though. If it doesn't then their portions are definitely smaller than BRGs. I agree that Spoodles is delicious though...but again, you get more for your money at BRG.

Every time I've gone to BRG it's been busy. I agree that you should sit outside - just more fun if you're on the boardwalk and as someone mentioned it's quieter too. If you want to know for sure if they take reservations just call them.

You guys have convinced me to eat here and I think I will. I heard Boardwalk is fun at night!! My DS5 will LOVE it I'm sure. And I hear the beer is great at BRG! On a weekday night in July, do you think walking up will be a problem? I know that you can't get an ADR for here....

We stayed at BWV this past january. We ate at Big River Grill and enjoyed it.
The ribs were great. They don't take ADR's but if you call them directly a few months in advance they will put you on a list for what time you want. When we went there was an hour wait. I just gave them my name and we got a table right away.

I have to agree. The chicken was wonderful. DH enjoyed his meal too, I don't remember what he had though. We are eating there again when we go in April.
