the Jedi Training area to sign up the boys for the earliest show possible.

Then we'll take a spin on:

One new thing I'd like to do today is:

I'm really excited to try out Sci Fi!

How's the weather looking? Still some sixties, but only on arrival day!! :cool1: The 80s are back!! (I think the forecasters just like to mess with those of us who check the weather this far in advance!)

Friday 2/25: 74/58 Sun & areas of low clouds
Saturday 2/26: 81/57 Increasing clouds

Monday 2/28: 82/57 Mostly sunny

Monday 2/28: 82/57 Mostly sunny

I like this one for our Typhoon Lagoon day!

Did you see my post on FB that March park hours have been tweaked starting 3/3???

I didn't see you FB post but I saw that park hours had been changed... I was worried they had changed the MK opening on 3/1 to 8am screwing up our pre-opening CP breakfast, but luckily it's still showing 9am that day! :thumbsup2 Some added parades & stuff later in the week that will help us out though.

My boys really enjoyed Sci-Fi. We went there on our 2007 visit and they still talk about the crazy movie clips!

Here's to 80 degrees and pool time!! :thumbsup2

We'll see if the 80s stick... I bet it will be back to 60s by tomorrow.

I didn't see this! I only saw they had changed for AK - were there other changes too? I gotta go back and look....AGAIN.

The boys haven't done the Jedi Training Academy before, have they? I think they will have a lot of fun with that! The pictures will be awesome!

As I think I mentioned before, we really enjoyed our meal at Sci-Fi. Not so much for the food (which was good but not outstanding), but for the great atmosphere. The clips from all the movies are hilarious!

Yes - Some 8am MK openings, extra Fantasmics & extra MSEPs. :thumbsup2

This will be a first if the boys do Jedi Training - I've never wanted to risk one of them getting picked and the other not getting chosen. The new system has you sign up ahead of time. It's first come, first serve so if we get there right at park opening, both boys should be able to get in. We'll see... I haven't told them a thing about it just in case it doesn't work out.

I know the food may not be amazing at Sci Fi but I'm sure it will be at least as good at counter service, with a much better environment. :thumbsup2

Day Eight, Thursday 3/3

In two weeks, our day will start with a lazy morning… We have no plans for the first part of the day so we may end up hanging out at the resort, maybe we’ll end up at a park, maybe we’ll visit DTD (but that’s unlikely with the Lego store under rehab) or possibly even a waterpark??

We have plans to spend the second half of the day at Epcot with a dinner ADR at Les Chefs de France (a first for us).

Hopefully we’ve scheduled it right to catch Remy:

We’ll finish off the night with Illuminations.

The Flower & Garden Festival will have started the day before so I’m excited to take some “after” pictures for my before & after comparison. And it’s just fun to soak it all in when it’s so beautifully decorated.

The weather:
Here is weather.com, which only has our first few days:

Accuweather… some are up, some are down, some are the same:  For the most part it looks great, with a couple cooler days thrown in.

Thursday 2/24: 78/59 Partly sunny, showers around
Friday 2/25: 82/60 Partly sunny
Saturday 2/26: 85/57 Sunny
Sunday 2/27: 67/54 Partly sunny & colder
Monday 2/28: 79/55 Becoming cloudy, warmer
Tuesday 3/1: 83/52 Clouds & sun
Wednesday 3/2: 75/43 Colder with rain
Thursday 3/3: 66/45 Sunny

On the packing/planning front, I spent a good part of the day packing yesterday. I had a lot packed already, but got things more organized, pulled out another suitcase to pack things that we won’t need until we get to the condo. We won’t have to open it at Jeff & Karens.

One of the things we have to finalize is our rental car. Way back when I booked our airfare I found some good rates for minivans for 11 days - $500- (and haven't found anything cheaper since). I booked two – Dollar, which is at the airport & Alamo, which requires a shuttle. Why Alamo? We love Alamo, they offer a free second driver ($110 value) and once you are at the Alamo lot, you can just walk up to a car and drive off. Super easy at MCO, not as easy at TPA. I don’t know that we’ll lose much time taking the shuttle to pick up our rental car since it took us quite a while to pick up our rental car last year at TPA (I think we used Budget?) with having to wait at two counters, one for paperwork & one to actually get our car. The issue is the return to the airport. With Dollar we would just drive right up to the airport. Will we regret having to take a shuttle back to the airport from Alamo if we go with them? The free driver is nice, just in case, but I’m not sure I’ve ever actually driven the rental car on vacation before. :confused3

Here’s a peek at our countdowns:

Woo Hoo!!! One week from today, we'll be starting our vacation!!! :dance3:

Sorry it’s dark, I used my phone… easier to transfer pictures into the computer…

Tune in tomorrow for Day Nine!

Amy
your days are looking really nice...the IASW Dis meet sounds too fun! can't wait to see pixs of that hope your whole family is on board...Matt enjoyed our two meets :goodvibes

sorry the weather is flippping as the park hours...why do they do that to us power planners. Either way even if MK opens at 8 am that morning you'll still experience a semi empty Main Street.

Hope all works for the Jedi training, it looks cool and the IJSS is very cool, I just know the boys will like that. sit near the far left if I am remebering correctly so you can get out quick there are ALOT of people exiting this theatre at one time.

looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming Disney days

J~

You're down to one week!! SO exciting! :cool1: :cool1:

We always go back and forth about the second driver when we rent a car as well....but, I rarely drive when we are on vacation, so we opt for just one driver. Seems to work out okay for us. I'm sure you'll make a good decision! ;)

Weather is looking FABULOUS! :cloud9:

I wouldn't worry too much about the Lego store being under construction. They have a large tent like structure set up to visit if you would like to purchase anything. I almost felt as though the tent structure was larger than the actual store is itself. :confused3 Perhaps that's just me!

I realllllly want to go to Les Chefs de France on our next trip but I think that I'd like to go for lunch!

I'm really excited for the big DISmeet! I'm also excited for the Jedi Training... we'll see what happens! Thanks for the tip on where to sit at IJSS. :thumbsup2 I'll confirm which way they have us exit before sitting down.

I'm so undecided on the car situation... :confused3

I think the weather will be great! As long as it's warmer than my January trip we'll be OK. ;)

Were there still play areas at the Lego tent? That's really the main reason we would go there - we'd buy some too of course.

I'm excited to try out Les Chefs. :thumbsup2

No more trips to Target or Wal-Mart for me... :rolleyes1

I hope I can pay for my pedicure this afternoon. ;)

Look at that tiny little countdown chain!!! :yay:

We might be in Epcot on the 3rd as well. I marked it down in my notes that you'll be there, so if we are, I'll watch for you. :3dglasses I hope you get to see Remy!

Too funny about the Wal*Mart and Target trips! Yesterday I went to CVS for two things...walked out with about 9. BUT, they were almost all trip related and necessary, so I'm glad I thought about them while I was there!

Yes - Some 8am MK openings, extra Fantasmics & extra MSEPs. :thumbsup2

Ah! Is that 8 am EMH or just regular opening 8 am? 8 am is way too early for this family on vacation. We are up by then, sure, but out the door and at a park? That would be a miracle! :rotfl: (which, I do believe in, so I guess ya never know! LOL)

Yahoo for extra MSEP's! They were seriously lacking before!!

I only have the hours through the 6th on my spreadsheet & I don't have the old hours anymore so I'm not totally sure of the changes but here are the highlights:

MK is opening at 8am on 3/4, 3/5 & 3/6 (Fri, Sat, Sun) (And yes - that's 8am for everyone, not an EMH - too early for me!!)
3/5 & 3/6 now have two MSEPs - 7 & 9 on Fri, 8 & 10 on Saturday.
MK is closing later on several nights
All Fantasmic nights are now double showings with some later park closings thrown in too.

How exciting that your vacation is only a week away. I thought all the schools in NH were closed all of next week for President's week. I know that's the biggest ski week of the season.

Loved your Epcot pics!

Just six days until the start of your vacation? Color me envious!!! The weather looks just perfect for your trip, really and truly. It has been in the 70's the last couple of days here. At soccer practice yesterday, one of the track coaches noticed my WDW lanyard (which has all my school keys on it) and said, "I could totally handle being at Disney right now." Turns out he loves it there as much as we do, and it really was perfect Disney parks weather yesterday. :thumbsup2
