:thanks: I was just reading a thread asking CM's to post about their job. As it turns out, CM's are restricted in what they can say. One post did mention that the negative posts on the DIS boards are copied and sent to the appropriate department within Disney. Well I figure if they forward the negative stuff, perhaps the positive stuff is looked at too. :yay:

Therefore, I figure, why not start a thread that just says thank you. Perhaps you have a CM's name and you want to thank him/her...most of us don't have a name, but certainly would like to share a story. :thumbsup2

So let's give the CM's in our favorite place on earth a little encouragement.

I just wanted to say thank you to all the CM's. From the person at the concession stands, to the character's who share so much, to the people who clean the streets. You all do so much to make our little slice of heaven a wonderful place to visit.

Your dedication is very much appreciated. Disney World is my haven and it is each and every one of you that make it that way for me. :thumbsup2 :thanks:

Let me start with Scoop Sanderson, THANK YOU! Thank you for all that you and Jacque did to help us coordinate the pins that went to the kids that went on the Bert's Big Adventure charity trip in 2006. The big swap saved me many hours worth of stop and go park touring last December. I also appreciate the honor of receiving the CCT & Easy 1-2-3 pins.

Marc with WDI, we met him at Epcot last year and he was just a pleasure to speak with. He made a very special donation to Bert's Big Adventure. I can not thank him enough for his generosity!

Beverly at Kona Cafe is a real gem! Thank you for being so pleasant and such a great server. She remembered us when we were there Friday morning from our visit in December of 2005. She even remembered the table that we sat at! The woman is amazing!

Alex at the HM, that man knows how to put on a great show! He was in character in the super creepy way that all HM CM's should be. He made my visit to the mansion truly memorable. Thank you!

TJ at the ToT, thank you for being such a wonderful CM and such a wonderful character! If you have ever watched the Travel Channel specials that include bits on ToT, you have seen TJ. He made my trip to MGM very memorable and even helped us snag a wonderful photo outside the ride. Thank you for being you!

Thank you to Jen Kagel! She was a CM that worked on the old version of the animation tour. When we asked for her autograph, she did us one better, she drew us a Mickey Mouse head and then signed it. It's my favorite souvenier from the vacation that we took in May of 2001. Thank you and I pray that you landed on your feet in the animation world.

Thank you to the wonderful CM's that worked at Studio M over at DTD back in September of 2002. I met Mickey Mouse there for the first time. They handled my rather emotional meeting of the mouse in a wonderful and really special way. I still get choked up thinking about the joy that I experienced that day in finally healing my inner 4 year old's 30 years of pain in not getting to hug Mickey Mouse. The free photos are priceless and I could never thank you guys enough.

There are hundreds of thousands of CM's over years that have crossed our paths in big and small ways that make the magic happen. It's a team effort and I am so glad that WDW exists.

Thank you Walt, Roy, & Roy Jr. You fellas certainly dreamed big and made some really special memories happen for me and my family over the years. Maggie

There are so many to thank, but one in particular, the manager of the Artist's Pallet at SSR&S. She talked with the wife and I for a while when we were there in May, and convinced us that we NEED to go to MNSSHP (we already were, but she was great).

If you're there (I can't remember her name. . .bad mattsdragon :o ) , we'll be there on the 22nd of October.

Thank you to all of the great Cast Members at WDW! I've been to WDW many times now, and have never really run into a CM that was not doing their job well! Every once in a while we have gotten slow service at a restaurant, and even have been given the "bums rush" out of Alfredo's during out last seating meal, but never ever have we encountered a rude CM.

Great greetings at BCV from Art, great character interaction at the Disney's Family Magic Tour from Wendy & Peter Pan (going on the tour again with darling grand-nephews at the end of Oct. 2006), great maid service at Boardwalk Villas, and now......I have to remember to write down where, when(day and time),and who (Mickey, Minnie, Wendy, or maid/what type of CM) it is that has given us the magical experience we have always had, so that they get acknowledged for their extraordinary customer service!!!! It would also help here if there was an address for the various departments for the different types of staff members...i.e., Entertainment, Hotel, Merchandise, Custodial, Guards, etc. so that letters can also be mailed to the appropriate departments within Disney. I will also try and take pictures of the employee who I want to thank, so that no mistake is made in identifying them (except, of course, Mickey and Friends.....they are the one and only's! Just have to jot down day, time, park, area....ex. Mickey on
10/26/2006 in the Judges tent at 12:00 pm)

Totally liking the positive thread!!!

Do Disney Hotel Employees (Yacht Club specifically) count as CMs? On the last night of our trip in December, my husband and I had a lovely romantic dinner at Palios at the Swan. Perfect, except for the moment when my multi-day park-hopper ticket slipped out of my pocket and down the wall next to the banquet. Alas, we tried to forget about it after several unsuccessful retrieval attempts since we were going home in the morning.

But... we walk to the Yacht Club and think how nice it would've been to pop over to see Illuminations at Epcot... if ONLY! We went to the Customer Service desk at the Yacht Club "just to ask" and the nicest young man spent a full 20 minutes working on our problem. We weren't staying at the Yacht Club, mind you, and had nothing but our IDs and the credit card receipt for our tix. He was beyond kind, seemed like he was unraveling the computer mysteries of the universe, and eventually gave us a number that the Epcot entrance people were able to look up, confirm, and let us in for the fireworks. I cannot tell you how impressed we were. The night left us with a warm glow and yes, we are returning this December, more for the wonderful relaxing feeling (kind employees who take the extra step, beautiful grounds, etc.) than the rides.

If any Disney executives happen to see this post, you should know that my husband and I are your perfect off-season guests -- traveling to the park during your less crowded times, never leaving the property, always eating in your more expensive restaurants even without the dining plan, buying add-ons like spa treatments. Your employees are your Number One asset. The good ones generate all your profits. Treat them well.

THANK YOU to the staff of the Beach Club for making our trip this past August the most magical yet!

Especially...

Thank you Teena the Greeter & it was a pleasure to meet you!!!

Thank you Vilma at the concierge desk always with a smile.

Thank you Art the Greeter for being so kind to my kids!

As always and forever - thanks to Mulan and her greeter Roberto (Epcot)

Thanks to the great clerks at the Emporium who can visit with a smile even late, late and night!

Thanks to the community college student who works at POP as a life guard twice a week - I felt like my kids were safe there - what a gift to a parent on vacation!

Thanks to several cast members that must also be DISers because they waved or mentioned my green Mickey head.

Thanks to the woman who waved to us as we walked into Animal Kingdom and said "Welcome!" I hope she didn't think I was a big freak as I walked by in happy tears saying "thank you - we are so glad to be here!"

:bounce: Okay,, I am sure she is still not at WL...But I want to thank Jill...

we were there in 1995... Every night we came back into the hotel, in the lobby a coffee bar was set up. We stopped one night to get a cup of coffee and some fabulous cookies they had spread out.

My DD picked the M&M one(who was 5 at the time) Jill asked my DD her name. It is Jylian.. She told her she had the same name and gave her the cookie for free We paid for our coffee and a cookie for DS as well.

the next few nights, my kids looked for Jill each time. She even spent much time ooogling over my son. :bounce:

So I commend Jill who is probably taking her kids to DW now.

She gave my children a lifetime of memories.
Thank you thank you :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I have many many more CM's whom have made our family trips wonderful, but Jill was my first thought :cheer2:

GREAT THREAD btw

I have many CMs I would love to thank from our trip this past week and when I have the time to sit down and think about all them, I will post my thanks.

However, I do want to thank Brer Bear at AK on Sat 9/23. Dd4 ran up to BB when it was her turn and tripped and fell flat on her stomach. She scraped up both her knees and elbow. BB tried helping her up (although all she wanted was mommy) and then took the time to come over to her and make sure she was okay. When we were leaving the park that afternoon, dd was looking for BB because she wanted her pic with him that she didn't get that morning. Unfortunately, we did not see him again before leaving.

Awww.. poor kid! :guilty:

The last time I was at Disney I didn't pay attention to the CM's names... I didn't know any better...

But I am looking forward to having much praise to post after our trip next week! :goodvibes

Your stories and thanks are wonderful. Keep them coming. I hope the Disney Exec's do read this thread. I think MIAMIBEACH said it best:

"If any Disney executives happen to see this post, ...your employees are your Number One asset. The good ones generate all your profits. Treat them well."

I wanted to take a moment to thank the monorail CM's. You are the best!

On my last trip my dad was in an ECV. Those CM's pulled a huge metal ramp out everytime he came up to the monorail, called ahead to let the departure spot know that we were onboard and would need the ramp to leave. And each one did this with a smile. I really appreciated this! I just can't tell you how wonderful it was to have your smiles and eagerness to help.

my DH and me were at WDW from 8-8thru8-12 (it was a surprise b-day gift
I didnt know we were going until we were checking in at the airport!!! :goodvibes )

We had just the most magical time!!! everything was great--crowds werent to bad--we went on things and saw things we havent done in a long time due to crowds!!!

It was our last full day and went to AK--got a FP for EE!!(biggest mistake of the trip)
DH got off and was soooo very sick I went to a gift shop and asked for help
the shop was Discovery Island Merchdise by the way--

well the CM there were just terrific..soon there was paramedics and security!!! they took DH blood pressure and blood sugar both were ok.

They took him to first aid so he could rest and then called guest relations to take us back to CBR.

I went to MK while he rested--when I got back--the CM from the gift shop sent us a package with t-shirt for each of us and a souvinear book with a very nice note!!!

I wish I had taken better notice of their names but I wrote a long letter explaining everything and wrote every detail I could think of so these CM would get the credit they deserve.

About 2 weeks later we get a phone call from Disney executive (I wasnt home so they talked to DH)

they told him that they were glad he wasnt sick for very long and appreciatied the letter and they were going to forward it to AK so they can figure out who helped us out!!!!

I sure hope they did these CM were terrific :goodvibes

To all the CM's that may read this thread, THANK YOU. You guys ARE the Disney Magic. Myself sitting here in Philadelphia soo excited because in three weeks when my DW and I arrive with our 2 1/2 yrold DD, it will be YOU that makes her eyes light up and turn to me and say " Daddy I love Mickey Mouse" and melt my heart. For that I thank you.

I want to thank the CMs at Polynesian Resort. The CM who checked us in (FEB 12) had such a big smile ... and my jaw had already dropped open from sensory overload and WDW awe! Also I'm sure I was goofy from driving since we OUTRAN the blizzard (we were supposed to fly!). She made check-in wonderful! Also the bellmen that went the extra mile getting us and our voluminous luggage to our room and back out again ... yes they were tipped but they still went the extra mile!!!

As you see ... I loved the Poly enough to go back!!! Didn't even THINK about another resort!

I'll never forget Robert at the MK popcorn booth near the castle and Tomorrowland. After the fireworks we got shoved so much that we took our strollers and my son into the popcorn booth. We went all the way to the back to get out of the croud's way. Robert waved and said it was fine for us to be there and he gave each of my kids a little cup of popcorn while we stood there. My husband said it was because I looked so "freaked out". I thought I was acting cool but I was scared to death. I thanked Robert and he said he didn't blame me and that he gets scared of the crouds too!! What a guy!

Thank you to Tracee at the front desk at Beach Club for the balloons and card from Mickey for my daughter. She loved it, and I truly appreciated your extra effort.

Thank you to Hyacinth at the concierge desk at Beach Club for always being so pleasant and helpful. You did a great job!

My DD13 bought a visor that has Tinkerbelle on it, and it says "looking for lost boys". We were surprised at the number of CMs who stopped and asked her if she had found any "lost boys". Being a 13-yr old, she was always looking for "lost boys", so she was tickled with the CM's questions!

I too thank all the CMs that make each and every trip magical! :wizard: Some special ones that stick in my head are:

The bus driver, Oct 2006, who changed the bus sign to VIP when my son and I were the only ones on the bus because he was wearing a birthday pin (and a shirt claiming he was a prince :lmao: ). We had a wonderful conversation on the way back to the hotel and he did treat DS13 like royalty.

Rose Marie at Disney Studios who managed to find a pin my DS had been looking for for 2 years. Not only did she find it, but mailed it to us after our vacation had ended.

Our waiter at WCC (nametag said Del Mar, but he had lost his real one) who made our dinner there very fun.

I especially (sp?) want to thank the housekeeping staff at the resorts and parks who I don't feel get all the appreciation they deserve!! But in general, all the CMs!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
