May 17th MK and Rose & Crown, Epcot
We knew it was going to rain it was just a matter of when today. Set off to MK .not our most favourite place due to the fact that normally its packed, you can only do a small amount of rides and we are not girly girls!!
The thought of breakfast with a princess would bring Lucy out in a rash!!
Opening ceremony and I began to realise that the threat of rain might just have done us a massive favour the crowds seemed surprisingly non-existent.
Went straight over to BTMR x 2, to early to do Splash Mountain, so realising that the crowds had all gone somewhere else, we decided to go on as many rides as we could (similar to the other night!). Rode all of the following: Magic Carpet of Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, Swiss Family Tree house, The Haunted Mansion, Peter Pans Flight, Mickeys Philharmagic, Snow Whites Scary Adventures, Dumbo and The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh never have we ridden so many rides in such a small amount of time. We were basically just walking straight onto them!!! We really couldnt stop laughing (almost hysterically so!)
Lucy having a braid : the one last year lasted 9 months!! It took me half an hour to untie it all and then the piece of hair dropped out!!
Lucy and Kara decided to go on The Teacups, they really make me feel sick
, and whilst they were on them it began to rain. We raced across to Tomorrowland to ride the Indy Speedway (another one of Lucys favourites!) Lucy and I sat in one car and we stuck Kara in a car on her own. Lucy is a great driver of these and never once hits the bit in the middle. After this ride we all knew that we would have to forget being fashionable and go and buy some plastic ponchos!!! So much for Kara saying she would NEVER wear one!
All ponchoed up and ready to go: Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain x 2. We could hear our stomachs rumbling under the ponchos so we went all the way over to Columbia Harbour House for fish and fries x 3.
We all wanted to go over to Toontown Fair to meet some characters so re-fuelled to the max we set off again. Minnies house and Mickeys house
Kara is really getting in the swing of being a child again!
Lucy decided that as a bit of a laugh she wanted to meet the Princesses in the Judges Tent. Kara stayed in the shop and I actually joined her in the queue I just needed to see her face when she came face-to-face with the Princess!! Remember she really isnt girly-girly
.
The conversation with Princess Jasmine goes like this:
PJ - Oh Lucy, you are from England?
Lucy Yes!
PJ You have a queen in England, dont you?
Lucy Yes!
PJ Aladdin and I are visiting the Queen soon
Lucy Oh really!! (with a raise of her eyebrow)
PJ So if you see your Queen on a flying carpet, thats what we will be giving her as a present off us
Lucy R E A L L Y!!!!!!!!!
Hence the almost bemused look on Lucys face!
Left at about 2pm (Parade had been cancelled due to the rain) and went to warm up in the Hot Tub.
Tonight we had our first ADR, at R&C, so hopefully some different food than chicken strips, soup and fajitas!!
Only had to wait 5 minutes at the Rose and Crown to be seated seated inside, which didnt really bother us. Kara had the chicken pastie, Lucy and I both had the cottage pie it was really tastey.
It was never cold at night - just that Lucy insisted on wearing her zip-up sweatshirt - she takes it everywhere with her!
We will definitely be going back next year. We had an 8pm seating and it was plenty of time to eat just a main course you might be a bit pushed for time if you had starters and desserts. We were shown to a viewing area outside, luckily the rain had eventually stopped at about 6pm, and had a fantastic view of the Illuminations. After the fireworks there was no rush to leave, so we had another fresh orange drink, paid the bill (which I think came to about $40)
Another really wonderful day had come to an end .a day we werent really looking forward to but thoroughly enjoyed!
