Day 4 May 13th MGM

Wake up this morning at 6.30, had to set alarm clock, because we have an EMH at MGM. Usual set-up in the morning….stroll over to PM, kids have a chat to the ducks (who they have named Fred and Ted!), breakfast and off to the park.

We have never used the EMH before because Andy is not one for getting up early in the morning on holiday so I didn’t know what to expect crowd wise. Even though when we were queuing up it seemed the same amount of crowds as on a normal day when we were in the park the lack of people was very noticeable. Headed straight over to ToT, with Lucy ecstatic that she had someone to go on with. They both went off holding hands (ahhhh) and I went to get FP for RnR.

Sat waiting opposite ToT for them to appear (great a smoking area that’s actually in the thick of it rather than hidden away in the corner! :smokin: )and 20 minutes later they did – having ridden it twice! Rode RnR (my heart beat goes so fast when the countdown is in front of you!!)FP again for later on.

Went off to do Star Tours, 3D Muppets and to see The Extreme Stunt Show. Waiting for this show is awful – you are either under the stadium with massive fans that nearly blow you away, or you are outside in the blazing down sun (and it was very hot today!). We ended up queuing outside, which suited Kara and me, but Lucy constantly moaned about being too hot and where was the shade!! As if I could muster some up from somewhere. :confused3 Got in the stadium and Lucy sat about 5 rows behind us with another family in the shade. She is very sociable and will join anyone! Kara and I sat in the sun…..those seats don’t half burn the back of your legs when you sit on them!
Show is great and action packed but I think we sat too near the front – the fumes nearly knocked you out. And does anyone, English that is, get the questions right at the beginning? I haven’t heard of half the films or actors!

Stomach’s seriously rumbling now so we go to ABC Commissary and actually sat in the shade to eat our lunch. Every counter services offers the same food and of the same quality, doesn’t it? So we ended up with fish & fries x 2, burger & fries and 1 large sprite.

It was quite a nice relaxing meal and sat right opposite where Monsters Inc. do photo’s so after we had finished we sent Lucy off solo (again) armed with the camera for some character interaction!!! Poor child….she may as well gone on holiday on her own! So much for those magical moments with your children that you just wouldn’t miss for the world. :rotfl2:

Really flagging now so headed off home to yes you guessed……………dig site to sunbathe. :sunny: Lucy was bragging that yesterday she went on the slide 32 times and she was going to try and beat that record today. I must really try and spend more time with Lucy….Kara and I haven’t even been in the pool yet!!

According to our itinerary tonight we had Spectromagic and Wishes. Lucy and I were all up for just going to bed but Kara was adamant that we should stick to our plans so off we go at about 8.30pm. Everyone was lining Main Street so we just decided to have a look at how long the wait was for Big Thunder Mountain……..totally missed the Parade because we ended up doing BTMR twice, Haunted Mansion,IASM (yes I know really sad :rotfl: ), the horsy carousel thing in the middle, Winnie-the-Poo ride, Snow Whites Scary Adventure and Space Mountain twice!!! The little kiddie rides we have always passed on because of the waiting time for them but they were just totally empty. This must be how it is when you are a celebrity!!! Unfortunately we were travelling light tonight, no fanny-pack, so I have no photo’s to prove this!

Managed to dash from Space Mountain to the Rose Garden just as Wishes was about to begin. Didn’t loose my head in the panic and just plonk ourselves down, remembered everything that I have been taught from you wonderful DIS people and positioned ourselves with no trees blocking the view of the castle. Tinkerbell went overhead, just as promised. This was the first time any of us have seen this firework display……I wasn’t disappointed with it, just not as impressed as I thought! Didn’t feel even remotely tearful, kids were just sat on the floor staring up at the castle, no tears there either.

Back home for about 10.45, absolutely shattered.

Today had been very hot and you don’t realise walking round how tired you get (who am I kidding – we spent half the day by the pool) straight to bed……….”I’m not tired" routine from Lucy...

Sounds like Lucy knows how to have lots of fun on her own, 32 times down the slide :thumbsup2

Poor Lucy, having to do stuff all on her own :rotfl: Another lovely day - I must admit, I'd be ready to drop after the schedule you've had over the last few days.

Another fun day :sunny:

Sounds like it was a lovely day. It's great when you can get on all the rides straight away, you do almost feel like there's only you in the park!
