May 21st Transfer to HRH and to IOA
The day had come to leave Disney. We would be very sad to leave CSR
, which we had really enjoyed handing over our own personal pool to unknown persons! Leaving the two old ladies at the PM and the Love-Bugs at the Dig-Site.
Had our toast, tea, croissant, bacon and sausage for the final time outside the PM, overlooking the lake. It was early in the morning because we had a cab booked for 8am. Luggage guy came to pick up our entire luggage from the room at 7.45 (not a minute earlier and not a minute late!! Why cant England be so organised?)
Waited outside the reception area for our cab to arrive hoping that lots of people would be around I had ordered a stretched limo (similar to the one on Aerosmith!!) I had originally thought I would keep this as a surprise for the girls but I am hopeless at keeping a secret and had told them way back in February .about 2 hours after booking it!!
When it arrived Lucy and Kara were beside themselves and didnt stop laughing all the way to the HRH even more so when we had a grocery stop at Wal-Mart. I bought the polystyrene cool box for $2, bottles of water (which I know are overpriced at the HRH) and Pringles. The driver even pushed the trolley round for us it was like a trolley-dash and was certainly another celebrity moment!
The girls insisted that we had the music DVD on full blast and Lucy stuck Stitchs head out of the rear window!!
Note the correct position of Stitch's ears!!
The next up-and-coming WAG!!
Lucy doing that thing with her hands again (because she's excited this time!!)
We arrived at the HRH at about 9am the Luggage guys opened the door and said we have some hip-hoppin princesses arriving
. The luggage slightly detracted from this image apart from the suitcases there was Stitch, various other cuddly toys which we couldnt fit in the suitcases, plastic Wal-Mart shopping bags and the cool box!!!!
Checked in and got room 4095 (obviously not until about 3pm!) similar to last year- which suited us fine. Overlooking the Woodstock Garden and the Universal car park in the distance. How long do you actually spend in your room looking at the view?
Set off to IOA with some trepidation on my part. I am all talk and very little action when it comes to the massive roller coasters. Even though I have been on The Hulk it was not an experience I would choose to repeat I had a plan of action, I was going to get in line with the girls and then just chicken out at the last minute and step across the seat!!
It worked a treat and they still dont know that I had no intention of ever getting on the ride.
That day we (well sometimes just the girls, and then sometimes me also) went on every single ride at least twice. It was a very busy day, with what seemed to be loads of school trips but FOTL works wonderfully! The girls managed to ride DD, as it was open on a Saturday, twice, both from the front row seats on both Fire and Ice I did have to wait about an hour for them though! I dont know what happens when you enter the castle but I can remember waiting for ages last year for Lucy and then discovering that she had ridden from the front and back both rides!!!
Had lunch outside overlooking Jurassic Park River Adventure, from the Burger Digs massive portions which we could have really shared half the amount between us. Made a note to order less food whilst at Universal!
Made our way back via Seuss Landing, even getting Kara on The Cat In The Hat ride, and the fishs one!!
Collapsed by the HR pool, which was packed so much so that the girl who was giving the towels out had to come and find us two sun-lounges together on the beach area. Lucy, well you all know what Lucy went to do .yep! Do the slide, make some friends and join in with the games.
Night time means just one thing to us when we are at Universal and thats the Hard Rock Café we always eat here and out of the 4 nights, we chose to eat here 3 ..creatures of habit!
Strolled back to the hotel really, really late tonight it was at least 11pm!! There was music by the pool so we had a sit down and a quick drink. Lucy met up with her friends from the day and went to the arcade. Eventually got to bed just before the bewitching hour!!
A fantastic day which we all will remember forever.. .the limo ride, the welcome we received at the HRH, getting soaked on the water rides (and I mean drenched!) and the great server we had at the HRC.
This is my screen saver at work - Lucy's face says it all!!
All in all probably one of the best days of the holiday (if not my life!!
)
