Girls Trip to Orlando! Trip report. Up to day 3! added

DAY 1- getting there! September 1st 2008

The day started early, me and DD got up at 6.am and got dressed. We could not eat any breakfast so I had a cup of tea and DD played a little on my bed while I had a look on the Disboards as had a bit of time to wait for my sister and parents. My parents picked us up at 7am with my sister and we made it to Manchester Airport at about 7.15am and was surprised to see the queues had already built up for check in however we had done online check in so only had a short wait to drop of our bags and get our boarding passes. We navigated the new security which caused us a bit of confusion as we had to go up some stairs. The changes must have been recent as my sister had few of Manchester only 2 months before it was the old way then.
We got for security with the only problem being the chains in my sister’s trainers! We than went to Starbucks where we had coffee, muffins and juice for DD. After that we had a walk around the shops and brought magazines and sweets. My sister got some sunglasses and DD got some Hannah Montana trump cards. We boarded the plan in good time, having to take a bus to the plane which is not something any of us like doing. The plane took of exactly on time. It was a very bumpy take off with people ether screaming or laughing! The flight was spent watching films, playing DS or reading. We arrived early and headed to customs and immigration. The man questioned if I had custody of my DD as she has a different surname than me, and asked for evidence. He eventually let us in saying “I will let you in this time however next time you will need to bring something as he may get sued” Well any after we quickly got our luggage which was now the only luggage left and quickly headed to the Magical Express bus. We took our luggage on the tram with us. I checked in to Magical express and they had us down for the wrong resort as we had changed resorts, I had updated our info however they did not have it. The man phoned someone up to check our reservation and than printed new passes out for us. The bus ride took about 40minutes before we arrived at All Stars Music! I went to check and pay our balance, luckily they did not ask to see my Annual Pass as we still had to collect it. We were in the country fair building which was the building furthest away. The CM saw the look on my face and assured me it is easy to find. We than headed to our room with our suitcases, extremely hot as we were wearing jeans and easily found our room however it was not a pleasant with our suitcases and in our jeans. We got changed and headed straight down to down town Disney to get our tickets. We just collected our, Magic your way tickets , AP and MNSSHP tickets and headed straight back to the resort. We stopped at the food court and I got all three of us mugs which we then filled up and took to our room. We watched TV for a bit before going to sleep!

Day 2 – Magic Kingdom and DVC, September 2nd 2008

We were awake at about 4.00am, so watched TV, and had showers until it was a normal time to go out. Today we were going to Magic Kingdom and had breakfast booked at crystal palace. We got the bus which was very busy- some people were going to Chef Mickey for breakfast too. When we got to Magic Kingdom they were a lot of people waiting to get in so we had to queue. We headed straight to Crystal palace once we got in and checked in for breakfast, a little worrying moment when they could not find our name however it turned out they had spelt it with a K instead of a C! For breakfast we ate croissants, sausages, eggs, muffins and fruit, our severe kept trying to get us to eat more and to put syrup on our food, which we all thought was yuck! He seemed to think it was odd eating it with out syrup though,. Breakfast cost around $60 including tip and I thought it was a lot for just 3 people, especially as we don’t eat much breakfast. I think character meals are much better value for us even if they cost a bit more.
After breakfast our first ride of the day and holiday was splash Mountain, which DD had decided upon months ago. After Splash Mountain we did BTM both without any wait before heading over to POTC, now DD really doesn’t like this version, she loves the one at Paris though however hated the added bits here in particular, Davy Jones so she gets me to promise to tell when we are pass those bits so she can watch the bits she likes which are the bits that are the same as Paris. After the ride we had a look around the shop, we all really like this shop however managed not to buy anything. It was than on to jungle cruise, again no queue and they was only us 3 and another couple on the boat so the CM didn’t use the mike, tbh it kind of ruined it a bit and it just felt silly. After Jungle cruise we decided to do Space Mountain , DD first time riding it, however on our way we stopped at Fantasyland where we watched philharmagic and rode peter pan. When my sister saw the outside of IASW she declared that “it looks rubbish compared to Paris” and agree the theming just does not compare. After Peter Pan we did the Indy car thing! And had our first wait of the day, about 15 minutes. Then we headed to Space Mountain however ended up at Buzz light year ride, which we rode and had some fun on. Finally we made it to Space Mountain. This was DD first time riding it and I was very nervous about the seating as I can not sit next to her or see her. I spent the whole ride worrying if she was okay, she loved it though! We than headed back to Music and it was only about 1pm. My sister decided to go to the outlet village so we helped her get a taxi and than me and DD went to book a DVC tour, 15 minutes later we were on a bus to SSR. DD went to the kids club while I did the tour which was great, AKV studios looked lovely, I had almost 90% decided I wanted to join as I know we will want to keep going back to Disney. so I went for it, I joined up and got 202 points at AKV which is enough for 2 weeks in a savanna view studio every year in September. DD had spent her time in the Kids club reading books, bless. Back at the resort we watched tv, had burgers and chips at the food court, and than we had a swim the the piano pool. It had been a long day so we spent the evening watching tv.

DAY 3 Disney Hollywood Studios - 3rd September 2008

Today we were up early once again, and I took DD to the food court for breakfast where we had muffins mad I had some coffee, my sister decided not to come to breakfast .
After breakfast we all got the bus to the Studios , on our way in my sister asked what the YOMD was after seeing a banner, after I told her she asked if they were given away cars, (she had past her test just a few weeks before and is desperate for a car ). We headed straight to TOT with no queue and while in the holding room we were visited by the dream team and after a massive build up we were given Mickey ears hats. My sister thought it was funny that we won something on the first ride of the day after she had only just learnt what YOMD was.
After TOT me and my sister took turns to ride Rock N Roller coaster using the single rider lanes, which is much quicker than child swap, we both got straight on without any queuing where as the standby queue was 10minutes long. We than did the Great Movie Ride, My DD hated it as much as last year, as thinks it is real, (the gun shooting and alien bit) and like last time they was at least two screaming children, this ride does not seem to be a hit with little ones.
We than did the Little Mermaid which is one of DD favourite shows before riding TOT again, we then got some fries to eat before heading to Toy Stories mania, queue was 40minutes which was the shortest with were ever to see it. We loved the ride however never got to ride it again as queues and fast pass times were massive every time we went back . We then did Star tours before taking DD to see Kim Possible. We were feeling tired by now as it was very hot so after riding black lot tour we decided to go and give Fantastic a miss on request of DD. The evening was once again spent at the pool, eating , drinking, watching TV and talking. We had burgers and chips for dinner at the food court.
