My DW's best friend's husband wants to set up a getaway weekend for her and surprise her by having my DW join her. They did a girls-only weekend trip to Vegas earlier this year. This one will probably happen in October or November. She is in Baltimore, DW is in Denver area. We are brainstorming ideas of where they can go. Any ideas or suggestions?

Additonal info:
- should be someplace warmer than Baltimore or Denver at that time of year
- neither of them are big gamblers
- they like to shop, but wouldn't want the entire trip to be about that
- we are going to be at WDW in February, so not there
- they are both thirtysomething

TIA!

New York City or Toronto are my recommendations! Great shopping, culture, however it's a bit chilly during that time of the year. Have a great trip!

How about a nice resort in the Caribbean with a spa? Actually, anywhere with a spa would be nice!

Cancun. It has the ocean, beaches, shopping, nightlife, etc.

How about Chicago? Or some place in Florida other than Disney, like Marco Island?

Ooo! How about St.Petersburg? Lovely there.

Scottsdale is great. I go with girlfriends every year. Upscale resorts with beautiful spas, wonderful shopping and restaurants. :thumbsup2

Atlantis

I was going to suggest a non Disney trip to Orlando. I have gone there the past 3 Octobers for girls trips. We have a blast! We do the pool thing during the day, and go out at night. Usually Universal City Walk. We usually stay at one of the Marriott Vacation Clubs. This past June we went to Palm Springs CA. That was a nice girls trip. A place I would love to go is San Antonio, near the River Walk area :)

A nice spa in Arizona? Somewhere where they can be pampered!

We've done the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale Arizona and loved it! It's a wonderful retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation. I don't know what your planning on spending as it can be a little pricey but oh it's wonderful. It's rated by AAA as a 5 diamond hotel. It's beautiful and the spa treatments are wonderful.

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far! :worship:

New York, Toronto & Chicago, though all excellent suggestions, I think would be just too cold.

Cancun...it always sounds more like a college-age destination, is that not so?

Caribbean/Carribean...okay, but where in particular?
Atlantis...but we'll be in Nassau in February.

Marco Island, St. Petersburg...don't know much about them, can you give more info?

Scottsdale...sounds good and airfares aren't too steep.

Tucson, Palm Springs, San Antonio...all good suggestions that I will look into.

San Diego is a lot of fun but might be kind of far for just a weekend.

Canyon Ranch in Tucson. :thumbsup2 Shopping is near by, if you must. I never want to leave once I get there though.

Palm canyon spa in palm springs, CA.

Plus, DW went to school there, so it wouldn't be anything new to her. A good idea, though; she has taken me there twice.

New Orleans - they really need the business. Great restaurants and fun shopping. Interesting museums and a chance to see real history in the making.

I've been to an "all girl's weekend" at Canyon Ranch Spa in Tuscon, AZ and Lake Austin Spa in Austin, TX. Both are are :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
