Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Should I have recieved my photopass cd yet? I know I was on the list but I haven't got it in the mail yet. Has everyone else?

Sarah

You should definitely have it; I checked the tracking number and it said, "Your item was delivered at 10:37 AM on April 23, 2009 in BLAINE, WA 98230."

Is there any more info on the October meet? I'm going to drive to the parks on the 23rd and stay that and the 24th at HoJo, then leave for LAX at 5am on the 25th to go to Florida to meet my parents.

There's a thread already started here, DisDivas and Family October Mini Meet Oct 23rd-25th, 2009.

Thanks for the kind words and the update on the shirt talk. I did read back a few pages and will say that I like the Mickey tie dye shirts, but I need either a v or scoop neck.

Janelle, I was with the group that met you in front of the Horseshoe. I'm so glad you'll be official next year!

Bridgette, and anyone else wondering, there is a link to the October thread on the front page. It's down near the links for the WISH thread, the exchange thread and the Vegas thread. :thumbsup2

You are so right about that. With being sick for so long it really was somewhat of a turning point for me. I have other health issues anyway, I'm on heart medication so it makes me more sluggish than I should be. So there were plenty of days before this that I didn't feel great. After going through this....I realize I guess I really did feel good then. I changed my outlook on a lot of things while I was sick. I was really excited to get better and change some things about me etc etc. This still is just holding me back so much.
I'm hope I haven't turned this into a poor me thread...you girls have just been so supportive with your messages, PM's and such that it really has helped. This has been so extremely physically and emotionally draining for me. :grouphug:
No, you didn't turn it into a poor me thread at all. We are here to plan and have fun, but we are also friends and are here to listen if anyone needs to "talk".
It sounds like you've been through a lot, even prior to this and I hope soon this pain you are going through is just a distant memory. It's hard to function when you don't feel well, and I know you have a little one to care for.

Thanks... me too :)

Thank you :)
Speaking of planning.....was it you that posted that link for the Mickey Tye Dye shirts...?? can you post the link again? I have a friend taking her daughter for her birthday in July, I'd love to get her one for her birthday before their trip.

Happy Friday all!
We just got home from a funeral for the mother of a very good friend of ours. She had ALS, and has been suffering for maybe 3 years. It had gotten very bad for the whole family, in that she couldn't eat, speak, do anything for herself at all. So while I know it was very hard for them to lose their mom, I think it was a bit of a relief, too. KWIM?
So we spent the day in Tracy with a bunch of Marty's high school friends. It was great to see them, since we son't get together as much lately, but just a sad reason to do it.
And now I am 20 pages behind on this thread! I'm not sure I will have a chance to read back, so if anything important happened, please let me know.
Thanks!

I was in Tracy today also!
Although for a much happier reason. Had an early dinner with some good friends at Texas Roadhouse. Yummy!

Finally we are home from baseball & it was windy & cold.
Now I am listening to online lectures for class.

I have been at work for over 13 hours...I am tired. Still have 3 hours to go and I want sleep. I worked 13 days in a row, had one day off, and am currently on day 6 of another 13 day stretch. I am tired. Did I say that already? It's a good thing I am not listening to an online lecture...I'd be out!

Your lucky your not listening...ewww..16 hour days?? I thought 12 hour days were bad.
When I got back from the trip I worked 12/12 hr days straight..I feel your pain.

Yeah, luckily I don't have to work too many doubles anymore. When I first started it was like every other day and I was pregnant and had a horrible cold for 3 months that I couldn't take any meds for because I was pregnant! That was no fun. So this is like a cake walk, and hey, I get to DIS at work so it's all good. Plus it helps me pay off stuff and save up for trips. Without the overtime I wouldn't have been able to go on the last trip.

Does anyone remember the old 80's kids game show called Fun House?

A kid's game show that pitted two teams of two players each. The contestants had to answer trivia questions and participate in challenges, such as trying to nail targets in the audience seats with water balloons. This was followed by a race between the two teams around a track that involved a variety of bizarre push carts. The team with the most points at the end of the game got to enter the Fun House. The two teammates took turns running through the collection of wacky rooms and obstacles to find tags that represented the prizes printed on them. The contestants won all prizes printed on the tags that they collected and took out of the Fun House before the two minute time limit was up.

I used to love that show. I don't know what got me thinking of it. I loved that and Press Your Luck...you know, the one with the Wammies! I remember staying home when I was sick and getting to watch that show with my granmother.:happytv:

We went back to the house after the services, and they had a taco truck there to cater. It was soooooooooooooo yummy! I never knew you could get a taco truck to come to your house. We don't have anything like that in San Jose.

Big money, big money, no wammies! Big money!

I'm too lazy to go back and read a 13654321245 posts.

I did catch a glimpse of a tie dye shirt theme. I guarantee you that if I try to tie dye the only thing that will get dyed is ME.

I'd be up for buying this though

I'm probably going to be watching a movie on Netflix (unless my parents steal the computer) or blogging away.

Taco truck? :confused3 Is that like those trucks that come to construction sites at lunch time to sell food? If not, I am not sure what that is either.:confused3

I remember it, wasn't called double dare though?

Wammies..love it!

You can't do that on television, 'member that?

Hey all!

One night at work (back when I worked night shift in the NICU), we got on a memory lane kick. We found the best website. It's called Retro Junk. They have lots of tv shows, movies, and commercials! Remember all those old McDonald's commercials? Anyway, you can search for things there, read reviews, and watch videos!

It's a great way to waste some time.

Anyone remember this one? McDonald's Commercial-Recital

Or this? Disney Afternoon Intro

Okay, okay, we all know Stacie was referring to me...I used that tutorial to make shirts before...easy, came out great!!!

BUT as a disclaimer...easy, but time consuming. I do not know how the woman on ETsy makes any money, so while I would be willing to make some shirts....you will end up paying more than $12!! Shipping to me both ways and supplies, plus the shirt.

Also, I am not fancy, mine all have Mickey on them, but the colors are far more random than I'd like, so I am not sure that they would make anyone happy!!

That said, with enough lead time.....anyone who absolutely needs a special type of shirt (crews make me feel a bit chokey too)...let me know.

I am not sure that came out right. Take home message...not making 40 of them, but could make some. Maybe we could have a t-shirt making party at Cheryl's house!!

Hey, you've opened your house before Cheryl, I'm just saying.

I am really tired tonight..and still need to get finished packing up my stuff for MA on Sunday. I work 8-4 tomorrow, then head to Cheryl's.

So, night night all.

Feel free to ask me about shirts!!
