Me and my 3 girlfriends who have been nicknamed "the fearsome foursome" went to WDW last Thursday thru Sunday for our bi-annual girlfriends trip. The players: ME( 35)!! Love everything Disney, know the in and outs, frequent this board, plan annual family trips, have an annual pass, DDE card, passporter book, subscribe to TGM, was just there in April, can't wait to go back, you get the idea!! I am the brutally honest one of the bunch! DGF #1 (32)! A Dis Fan, not as obsessed as me but running a close second, went with her DH and DS over Xmas. She is the kumbayah one of the bunch! She wants everyone to just get along! DGF#2 (27)! Was just ok with the idea of us going on WDW, but excited for a trip anywhere, single and quite a hot ticket but so picky hasnt had a boyfriend in a few years. She is known as the challenger in the bunch. If I say blue, she will debated that it could be a shade of green. Her last trip to WDW was with her family as a kid. DGF#3 (27), She is the laid back one of the bunch. She has infamous one liners that make you say "huh?". I call them her "statements of the day" this was her first trip to WDW. When we were riding ME to the hotel, she asks me about the back to the future ride. I tell her that's at universal, to which she replies, "isn't that disney" GASP!!!!! From this point on, I began to question our friendship!

Anyway after meeting at the airport, Me, DGF#1 and #2 flew in together and DGF#3 flew in from Ohio, we boarded ME and headed to POFQ, DGF#1 had booked it stating we could take the ferry to DD, funny thing, we never took the ferry over.

Anyway, our room was ready, we were in building 1. I loved the room especially the sink area of the bathroom. I don't know if I would stay with my kids there as I loved the Disney theme for them and I didn't notice it at POFQ. Would love to stay for a weekend with just DH, seems more of a laid back, romantic kind of resort. Did see lots of kids, but it was not nearly as kid saturated as the POP! Well, we unpacked and freshened up and headed to the park after having some lunch at the resort. I was the park/tour planner so I decided we should go to MGM first. We go there about 1:00. Now it was Gay Days and we were curious to see how it would be. All I have to say is that I don't know if more people stayed away during this time or what but the whole weekend we did not wait in a line more than 20 minutes. I was on a fast pass mission! DGF#3 was relucantly to FP because she thought it was an additional charge. Oh silly Disney rookie!!! So, we headed to TOT, 10 minute wait!!!!! Amazing!!! We ran over to RoR and grabbed FP's, the return time was only 40 minutes away!!! Are you kidding me?!! And it was Star Wars Weekend as well! Now I had never done ToT and be honest was not really looking forward to it. Okay, waaaay scary to me. Yes, I was the loudest one screaming!! Holy drops, batman! What an intense rush! Then we went Star Tours, NO WAIT!!! That one made me a little queasy. Needed something calm afterwards so we checked out the shops for a little bit before heading over to RoR to use our FP's. ALL I can say is WHOA!!! Do not miss this one!!! It is AWESOME!! Loved it!!!

Next we headed over to Backlot Tour! Again no waiting! Where is everybody?!!! And guess who got to be in the show?! yep! Yours truly! I was captain smiley and DGF#1 was officer dancey-pants! How fun! We both got doused with water. Only thing I wish they would record the editing so if you volunteer you can see it afterwards. The rest of the attraction was cool. We liked it. We gauged everything by DGF#3, if she liked it, it was a definite winner!

After that we headed to streets of america and took pics. Then we did "who wants to be a milionaire" How the heck didn't I win, I was getting the correct answer and pressing the button so fast! I like the phone a stranger option when they call Mickey Ave.

Last thing we did was Jouney to Narnia, I was kinda disappointed. I guess with DIsney, I always expect more. It was simple, decorated set with a trailer. It was still nice though.

Then we headed to Cape May Cafe for dinner. The clam bake buffet was YUMMY!!!! By that time we were all pooped and headed back to the room. So much for all the partying we said we would do!!! Oh well, see you in the am!! Next stop....EPCOT!!!

We are up and at 'em by 7 am and make it to Epcot by 8:30. You can tell the true Dis fans as DGF #1 and I are dancing and singing and chattering excitedly waiting for the rope to drop. Meanwhile DGF#1 and #2 are wondering what the heck is so important about a rope dropping that they had to get up early to see it?! And......they need coffee. DGF#1 and I decide to go get FP for Soarin while they sit and have coffee. Mickey comes out and the crowd goes wild well all except my two GFs, of course! The rope drops and we all march in a suprisingly orderly fashion to Soarin. When we get there, there is no wait but we don't have the other half of our party so we FP and head back. They are sitting in that espresso joint (name?), sipping iced coffee like there is no touring plan. I contain my impatience as I realize not everyone shares the love and sit and have a coke. After what seems forever or 5 minutes, or something like that, they finish up and we head over to TT. Yes, no wait, is it that easy?! Yes, it is! We are in our car in no time. Yippee!! Love TT!!! Hold on to your hats!!!! Love it!!! Next we did Honey, I shrunk the audience. It was ok, I know not to take my DD's to see that. They would implode with fear! But it was cool for us! Yay!! Time to Soar! what an incredible attraction! DGF#1 is from Cali so she narrated it for us! Love the end!! The non-dis folks decided they didn't want to edu-tained so we left epcot and headed over to MK. 1st stop.......turkey legs!!!! No trip is complete without it. I grabbed FP' for Space Mountain while they waited in line. We ate the legs, DGF#1 and #2, cleaned the bone so much it shined. I always get full 3/4 of the way through. So, after that we headed over to Splash mountain. 20 minute wait, 10 minute for BTMRR but we couldn't grab another fastpass yet. So we rode BTMRR first, love it, would like it to longer, of course. Then we headed over to HM, DGF#1's request. I like it a little, but I could do without it after going on it a few times. 20 minute wait, not bad. After HM, we were able to grab FP's for Splash Mountain. Then we did IASW, I don't care what age you are, WDW is not WDW w/o IASW!!! Next it was time for Space Mountain. It doesn't get any better than this! Awesome!! Whoo-hoo!!

Then we decided to have some ice cream at the spot in tomorrow land, where you can get smoothies or cones. Something about sitting and taking in the sights while eating a cone at WDW! I looked around and went from missing my DD's as I saw all the families to be happy I was there without them as I saw little ones acting up!!! After finishing our cones we did Stitch's great escape....cute....not as scary as Alien Encounters used to be. Then we went to FP Splash Mountain before heading out. Splash Mountain is SPlash Mountain, what can I say. DGF#2 and #3, the skeptics were in the front and got soaked! Afterwards, we headed back to the resort to take a dip in the pool (as DGF#3 had been whining she wanted to go in the pool constantly for the past 3 hours!).

The pool at POFQ is whimsical and fun. DGF#1 and I went down the slide 5 or six times. Us and a bunch of kids, 8 maybe the oldest age!! After about 15 min. DGF#3 asks if we mind if she goes back to the room and takes a shower. Oh no she didn't. She was the one whining about going in the pool and after 15 minutes she's done. Of course I have to give her a hard time. DGF#2 goes back with her, while DGF #1 and I have a drink and go down the slide a few more times. You can tell we are so happy to be without kids, DGF#2 and #3 are child-free so they don't, can't understand the joy we are experiencing. To be in the pool, without holding a little one, watching them like a hawk, telling them to stop running, stop splashing your sister. Ahhhhhhh, that was the point in the trip when I exhaled!!!

After showers and changing for dinner, we headed back to Epcot for dinner. We left the room @ 7, we had ressies for 8. Would you believe we missed them? Darn! So, we watch illuminations with rumbly in the tummy and then head to DD. Ok, don't like that whole you can't take a bus straight to DD from any park. I understand why but they need to work out a better system. We took the bus to Saratoga Springs and the driver told us it was a 5 minutes walk so we decide to hoof it. While walking around the lagoon, my mind starts to play tricks on me. Didn't I read somewhere to stay away from bodies of water in Fl. because of alligator attacks. It's 9:30 at night and the path is deserted. I start to get really freaked out. They always get theblack person first in horror movies, I tell my DGF's as I start to run like the dickens. Mr. Alligator won't have any dark meat tonight!!! In case you haven't guess it, DGF's are all white. Finally, we make it to the main road in one piece! We head to Cap'n Jacks for dinner and while the fuzzy passion drink was out of this world, I thought the seafood pasta was gross. The pasta and scallops were overcooked. I just picked out the shrimp. The artichoke and spinach dip was good. No one else was impressed with their meal. I won't be back there. We walk around DD for a few and then call it a night around 11:30. Gosh, I am getting old!!! Tomorrow, final day AK and EP world showcase!

I am enjoying your trip report. Maybe next time you should go with just DGF #1. I think if I were to tell most of my friends of my disney obsession, they would think I am crazy and would be more like your DGF #2 and #3. So I just discuss it with my daughter, she's as bad as I am, maybe.

Okay well, if you haven't guessed it kahana-ri is DGF#1!! Now that she's reading this I have to behave!

Yes, it did kill me to let others have their way......but I did......a couple of times!

And I think I do forsee a trip with just DGF#1 and I. And one with our families as well as we are godparents to each others kids.

Anyway, back to the report:

So, DGF#2 friend's father works at AK and has contacted him so she can see him when we go. AK has an EMH @ 8 so we are up early again (6:30!!!) and make it to the park about 8:15. We wind up getting FP for the KS and for EE, which I swore I was not going on! We go to Safari and not only is there no line, the FP return hasn't even opened yet. So we get in the standby line and handed our fp to the CM who was completely confused as to why we had FPs. Like we had a conterfeit FP operation going on. Hmmmmmmmm

So we get on board the truck and kumbyah DGF#1 suggests that I let DGF#3 ride on the end so she can see everything since she has never been. Not happening! SMACK!! Yep, that was my karma!! I got smacked right in the face by a tree branch as we were pulling off! First thing in the morning is defintiely the time to go, all the animals were out and about, even the lioness sitting on her perch. Just incredible! I missed DH during the Safari because he does impressions and copies the voice of the reserve guy radioing in about the poachers.

Next we head over to dinosaur. Ohmigoodness! They set me up! Had me ride on the left side!! I won't give it away but I thought I would have to go back to the resort and change my undies. I had DGF#2 in a headlock the whole time! If you want to get someone in your party good, have them get in last!

By now, I am on my last voice reserve! Well, we head to EE, and WHOA NELLIE!! DON'T LIKE THE YETI!!! DON'T LIKE THE YETI!!! After that one, I have no voice left. Everyone gave this one 2 thumbs up. I know DD5 would love the coaster aspect of EE but would faint dead away when she saw the yeti! Oh, before we did the safari, we fast passed KRR. After EE, it was time to return to the rapids. Okay, you get nice and soaked on that one. EW....wet denim!! After that we went to Festival of the Lion King. Another must see. I love it. Could watch it over and over again. Makes me all teary eyed and the hair on my arms stand on end. Again, you can tell the fans as DGF#1 and me are all clapping and singing along! "In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight!"

DGF#1 and I head back to Asia so she can buy her DH a Yeti towel and the other two go to Rainforest Cafe as that is where we are having lunch. Then we return to RC and I buy DH a couple of shotglasses (he collects them). DGF#1 breaks a glass (can't take her anywhere!) and wants me to bring it to the counter. I tell her I will tell it was her. So, she brings it up on herself. As I am checking out, she comes over and the cashier teases her by saying to me "Oh, she's with you!!" We have a laugh and then we hear our table being called.

RC.........don't understand all the hype, it's dark and loud! We are screaming to hear each other. Too much stimulation for me. I had the combo appetizer platter, crab dip was great! DGF#1 and I order drinks in a flashing glass. Someone makes the comment I wonder how much that drink is. I say probably around $8 or $9 dollars. Try again............$13.99!! Holy expensive drinks batman! Oh well, it was a good strong drink but a sobering price!

After we decided that we need to rest our tired and weary bones especially since we were going to act like we were 21 and check out pleasure island that night. We had 8:30 adrs for Marrakesh (again!) and it was about 2:30. So, we got back to the resort about 3:15 and were all sleeping by 3:30!

Next: Last night at WDW!!!

You sure have some fun friends! Sounds like you were just big old kids touring the parks! Very cool that you went down the pool slide a bunch of times. The POFQ is my favorite resort. It is a very relaxing and peaceful resort to walk around. I love the whimsical characters there.

So we all rise from our naps by 5-5:30, ready to go have dinner and hit Pleasure Island. Showered and dressed by 7:00, ressies @ Marrakesh were for 8:30. This time we make it to Epcot by 7:45 and try to get seated early. No problem! Wasn't my choice to have Morrocan, I would have preferred Mexican but I was outvoted. I had the beef shish-kabobs, I remember DGF#2 had the lamb but didn't like it so we traded, can't rememeber what DGF#1 had and DGF#3 had an appetizer combo pastry thing. I was good but I don't think I would go back again. I did grab a tangerine daquari and baklava from the little stand in front. Now that was yummy!!!

Finally time to hit PI. First of all didn't know that you can go in without paying. We got a combo club pass and hit the Island. Now, we could defintiely see it was gay days. Out by the truckloads. Of course, we were mistaken for lesbians more than once. We checked out the comedy warehouse. it was like who's line is it in anyway. It was funny but not sidesplitting. Then we went looking for the spinning dance floor. Found it!! I think we were the only straight girls in the place. It was WILD! Shirtless men multitasking, dancing AND making out! We danced and had a blast and then...........we got tired. Ready to pack it in by 1:15. You may say early birds but I was impressed to have made it that far. We headed back to the room and crashed. Thank goodness I had packed beforehand. We had to board ME for the airport at 7:40 for a 10:40 flight.

Next morning, we board the bus and head to the airport. The adventure is not over yet.........DGF#1 gets a skycap to check us in. Tells me it's worth it because we don't stand in line. Well I don't think he knew that because he brings us to the line and tell us we have to stand there. DGF#1 tells me last time the skycap checked them in and brought them their boarding passes. Anyway, we get to the line and she can't find her license. Starts to look frantically, going back and tracing her steps. Comes back without it. Gets back to the line and still doesn't have it and starts to freak out crying like a baby. Remember I am not the touchy one of the bunch. Crap, what am I supposed to do? I am trying to calm her down as she is crying " I just want to go home!". I am trying to tell her that she can still fly without her license. They just make you fill out additional paperwork. I am just about to give her that slap, you know the one they do in the movie to calm someone down. Just then this guy next to us tells her that he saw someone give an employee a license and heard him say "RI". Another skycap comes over and goes to find the license, can't find it. The skycap that was with us, goes and comes back with it. Meanwhile we are still in the line which was very long. We tip the skycap $8 for getting the license back. We wound up going outside to the skycap area to check our bagas and tipping another skycap. Go with skycaps in the YELLOW if flying SWA! Got home after that w/o incident. Can't wait to plan girls trip 2008!!!
