Girls Only Pre-Trip Report

5 weeks to go now so I thought I’d start my pre-trip report!!

So, DH & I took DD for her first trip last September when she was nearly 3 and had a magical time. Although after 4 days DH claimed to be “Disney-ed out” and couldn’t do Disney 2 years in a row. Hence this is a girls only trip, Me, DD and DM.

It is Mum’s first trip to Disneyland and her MUST DO list includes the railroad, the riverboat and a meet & greet with a prince (any prince, she’s not fussy!)

DD’s WISH LIST includes meeting Aladdin & Jasmine (again),Tiana & Naveen, Winnie the Pooh, IASW and Cafe Mickey!

My TO DO List is Salon Mickey (it’s a shareholder thing!) and Walts but would also love to meet Jack Sparrow!

I originally booked on the £175 off deal with Tesco staying in a standard room at Newport Bay but cancelled and re-booked Sequoia Lodge Montana Room with Lake View when the 40% off deal came out and still ended up saving £100!

A couple of days after I booked I found out that my friend (Mum to Ben 10) whose DS is a few days older than DD has booked for the same hotel, and goes the day after us – how strange is that???? When we found out we were both jumping around the room screaming - DD told me to stop making so much noise!!

Anyway, I anticipate much planning and changing of plans over the next 5 weeks but here is the plan so far...

Monday morning, get up at stupid o’clock and hopefully some lovely person (Daddy!!) will kindly offer to drive us to Southampton airport. We are being met at CDG by Ezyshuttle and go straight to SL to check in & dump bags.

First day aims: Disney Railroad, Woody’s Round Up, IASW, OUAD Parade.
Lunch possibly at Toad Hall and Dinner either an Early Bird Special in the Steakhouse or Beaver Creek Tavern back at SL, then an early night.

Tuesday – a gentle start to the day, possibly character meets in the hotel before the late sitting character breakfast. Off to the Studios to see Stitch Live, Playhouse Disney Show, go on Cars & Magic Carpets, play under the umbrella, etc. Hoping for a croque monsieur for lunch and maybe catch Stars & Cars before wandering back (via Newport Bay to see the fish) to hotel for a swim.
Dinner with our friends in Cafe Mickey and then a stroll round the village.

Wednesday – Try to make EMH today so no lie in! Buzz Ride and Fantasyland for the morning followed by a quick lunch in Walts (Please be open!) and then afternoon in Frontierland & Adventureland. Mum really wants to go on the boat ride! Not sure where dinner will be, or if we’ll be hungry... Maybe Cafe Mickey again for a pizza? Last chance to shop then back to SL to pack.

Thursday – last day so up early again. A chance to do anything we’ve missed so far or re-visit our favourites. This is a girls only trip remember so we will have to dine with the princesses!! Then the afternoon will be more of the same, hoping to catch the characters in DLH Foyer on our way out of the park. Ezyshuttle collect us from SL at 6.00 so we’ll probably grab something to eat on our way through the village.

Then it will be back home to start saving for the next trip!!

Have already made a few Disney-related purchases for the trip (as you do!) and so has Mum! Nice to see she’s getting into the spirit of it – she got me a Donald Duck T-shirt for Easter!! DD wants to know what costume she’s getting for this trip as we got her a Cinderella dress last year before we went. I think I can feel a visit to Disney Store coming on..!!

we're heading to the Sl on May 5th so we'll just miss you and your girly troupe, I haven't booked a Montana room but I'm counting on karma and the goodwill of the check in CM's to upgrade us LOL

3 weeks tomorrow!! (Air travel permitting!)

So we had a girls only trip to the Disney Store today, and in case you're interested, here's what we got...

As you can see she chose Tink - but a very helpful CM told me that at the end of August they should be getting the dress of my dreams - a reversible Sleeping Beauty dress that is pink on one side and blue on the other!!

We also couldn't resist this...

Oh yes, and there is the buy one get one free DVD offer on, so we got Mulan and Tinkerbell & the Lost Treasure! All with lovely Shareholder Discount!

Her DH, and 2 DS's are all here so I think she'll want to get home!! She was visiting her brother out there so at least she has somewhere to stay! Like you, I keep saying I wouldn't mind being stuck at DLP!! My cousin has been trekking to Everest Base Camp and is stuck out there!!!

Just booked some meals so thought I'd share...

Tuesday - Character breakfast & Cafe Mickey for dinner (also birthday cake!)
Wesdnesday - Walts for quick lunch & Steakhouse for dinner (hoping for Early Bird Special!)
Thursday - Auberge for lunch

I've not booked anything for our first day so we can see how we feel when we get there...
