So, to all of you HoJo experts. Exactly how bad are the Hwy facing rooms? Unbearable? Constant dull sound of cars? Hardly noticable? I'm trying to decide where to get a room.

I stayed in one of those rooms last August for one night at the end of our trip. (We added an extra night to our stay and the Disney facing rooms were full.) If noise really bothers you than it is not the room for you. "Constant dull sound of cars" is a pretty good explanation of the sound.
I can't remember for sure but I also don't think they are as "upgraded" as the Disney facing rooms. Maybe no microwave? Callie would probably know.

Oh Dawn Dawn Dawn. You don't know WHAT you have been missing out on. I have been doing it for years and I have like 4000 points. And you only get like 100 per movie so you can do the math. Sometimes we get lucky and get 200 for movies in the theater or double points for special stuff but mostly it is just 100 for dvds etc. But I have been replacing a lot of our old vcr tapes with dvd's etc for years.

I am saving all my points for something REALLY good like a trip to DINSNEYWORLD but then they changed it. Figures. Plus that is like 20,000 points or something riduculous that by the time I even GET that many points the whole program will be bust lol.

But anyway you SHOULD save them cuz you can turn them in for stuff.

Seriously, she's breaking my heart! I can't help but think about all those precious points sitting in a garbage can!

I know what you mean about finally getting all the points and then the program ending or they run out of what you want. This is the first time I've spent any points and I'm hoping I don't regret it!

I spent some points a couple of years ago on a skin for my phone. It was really cute! Then my phone broke, and I lost it...

I won't be spending points on anything like that again. I'm also saving up and waiting. They keep adding new rewards and things all the time. I'll start worrying when it looks like they never upgrade it. I'd love a free trip or something!

With no kids, I don't buy the movies. I love the movies, and have a blu-ray player, but really don't collect films. I do have the Disney Chase Visa but have never used the points.

What do you guys use those rewards for?

Beth, I read the reviews on Trip Advisor - people love that Candy Cane Inn so I don't think they have to offer deals, as it's small. But one of the recent reviews said it was too far. I felt HoJo was as far as I wanted to be from the gates (but of course closer is better).

I hope all is well.

Our friend who we spoke of before the trip, has died and we are all so very sad.
She leaves behind 5 children, the youngest is 6.

You, your family and this family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope everyone is having a good day so far. I took Ruben to work so I could have the van to take Adam to his meeting with the Dean this morning. He didn't get suspended which is good news. I didn't think he would since he was only defending himself but the schools do have a no contact policy no matter what, so I wasn't 100% sure.

Oh, and the "other issues" were that the Dean has heard him using the F-word in school. Right. Like he's the only teen in the whole school who does. Whatever. Besides, I can't fault him for that. In HS I had a mouth like a sailor and still do. As long as he's a good kid other wise, I don't care if he swears. I just told him make sure no teachers are around when he does it. (Awful mom, I know.)

Later we have to go to his doctor. The pins will finally be coming out of his finger!! I just hope it all goes smoothly and the bone healed properly.

Hoping that he healed properly. As far as cursing....I know I can make a sailor blush....a marine too for that matter.

All this talk of the Disney Reward Points has me thinking that I need to save them up again. I had almost 3000 last year and cashed them in for a Lightning McQueen TV/DVD combo. Rhys loves it so much. After that I started giving them away on another board that I frequent. Maybe I'll start giving them out to you all?

Well I do have movie rewards. In fact, accidentally made myself 3 accounts and added points to each! I have gotten some convoluted directions as to how to correct this, but haven't done so yet. Also, have not cashed any points in yet either. Love the idea of a trip or something.

Also am working on a HOJO credit, so hang tight my roommates. Also am working on a VIP tour credit, so hang tight for that too!

I have stayed at the Candy Cane Inn. The rooms are lovely. The shuttle is every 30 minutes, so it could be convenient if you had a watch. Seemed I was always looking at a 28 minute wait, so just walked most of the time. It seems farther than HOJO, but really isn't too much so. No short cuts though, and we were at the back of CCI. Rooms are very small. I would not want to share with more than one other in that location.

Heather, regarding hwy noise at HOJO. It is like a white noise machine. I actually have a sleep apnea machine, which is a constant hum. Anyhow, the road noise doesn't bother me at all when in the room. I learned the last time in building one, facing the parks that the balcony was really noisy anyhow, so I stayed in. Also, saw fireworks once, but didn't even bother to stay out and watch them because I had seen them in front of castle the day before, and it was so distant at HOJO's. So, don't need that feature. With little ones, it may be nice though, to have a view??

OH, and Dawn, so sorry to hear about your friend. Her poor little children having to grow up with out their Mum. Just darn rotten. That is my greatest fear to tell you the truth.

I am just chillaxing. I had some soup for dinner. It was no CC Baked Potato Soup but it was pretty good. I think I ate too much of it.

24 is on in 15 minutes....so yeah. I loves me some Jack Bauer.

I plan on staying at the Hojo during the next trip. I will be with my family so I will be okay...safety wise. If you all find a place just as nice with a cheaper rate, I will plan on doing the same. I like the Camelot Inn and Suites. But I have never seen a rate lower than 100 bucks a night. We still have a while...so I will wait.

Speaking of pins, I got my "What Will You Celebrate?" pin on Saturday from the "What Will You Celebrate?" IWG! It seemed really small, but when I held it up to my other pins, it was about the same size. I guess they just crammed a lot of images onto it and it seemed small.

I'd leans toward that one too. No real reason for that, but I always lean toward BWPPI for some reason.

I didn't, but I used 500 points on disneymovierewards.com for the limited edition D23 pin. They also have a D23 Silver necklace w/a Swarovski Crystal for 1000 points, but I don't really like the style of it, so I'm OK w/out it.

Too bad I can't use those points for membership into the club!

I use the Disney Visa rewards for anything/everything in the park. You can use them in any of the restaurants, but no cart food. But you could also buy Disney Dollars with the reward points and use those at the carts. I think the only cash I spent on this trip was for a couple of tips I had to leave.

I am a member oof the Movie Rewards thing an dbecause mom has to have the television in one spot that is not accessible to electricity or antennas means no DVD player without more cords. Not going to start spending more money when she is so stubborn.

I would love the free rewards though.

I use my Disney Visa from Chase on everything so I get points and have spent over $800 and owe about $60 because of the Diva weekend and helping a friend whose mom died and she needs money. I am always rescuing something it seems.

I ate take out from Lucilles and had shoestring fries, veggies, and tri tip with chicken and baby back ribs. NAP ATTACK.
