we have a TS at akershus and my DD is 4 1/2....she has a cute belle dress---so how many dress up for these? i thought what the hec....
also at MK at the Belle story do many dress up to see it? i was just curious--i know its a pain because i dont want her to change then and have me carrying stuff as i have 2 other small boys. but i also thought hey its disney where else can u get away with it and not get looked at funny:) i am sure at cinderellas table they get all glamoured up...:goodvibes
so do many girls just walk around the park in their dresses?
ANOTHER COSTUME QUESTION PLEASE
also for MNSSHP would it be smart to dress in rooms then go? planning on staying in the costumes all night---not bringing change for 5 of us....i am assuming that would be easiest? i know there are lockers but i would dread dressing 3 kids in a bathroom....we plan on staying at resort most of day---dressing and going...DH and I are both dressing up as well...most parents do?

There were lots of little girls dressed up at Akershus when we went there in September. Some more than others but all were adorable. :)

For MNSSHP I would dress in the room. I saw lots of parents dressed up. DH and I just wore costume t-shirts because that is what we were comfy in but lots of people go all out.

Have fun!

We've seen quite a few girls dressed up at Akershus for lunch and also many just walking around the parks in princess dresses. Your daughter would definitely not be out of place wearing her Belle dress there.

The Storytime with Belle at MK is no longer operating. They are replacing it with a meet and greet with Rapunzel.

Whew, so many questions...
First, yes, many dress up for character meals other than Cinderella's Royal Table (or whatever they are calling breakfast/lunch/dinner in the castle these days;))...Akershus included. You have your picture taken with Belle before the meal (a photo package with some 4x6s and a 6x8 picture is included with the price of the meal) so defintely let your little one dress up for that. You will see quite a few girls of many ages walking around the parks in dresses, many having come from BBB.

Next, yes, go ahead and wear your costumes from the resort to MNSSHP. If you think one of your kids will get uncomfortable (we have had some outfits become itchy after being worn for a few hours), you can always rent a locker and throw a change of clothes in there, but most guests will wear costumes into the party and the rest of the night. Last, Yes, you will see many adults in costumes as well.

Go ahead and enjoy...you are right, where else are you all able to dress up and not be considered a little odd? My DD is 10 now and I am happy she still wants to "dress up" at Disney...I know it will not last forever so as long as she wants to wear a costume, I will support her choice!!:cheer2:

Both my girls dressed up for CRT and walked around MK in their outfits all day. My oldest was Tinker Bell and my youngest was Belle. They LOVED it and we saw many other little girls dressed up too. It was so much fun! :upsidedow

Both my children like to dress up and stay in the clothes all day, I just try to pick something that will coordinate with the activity or dining we have for the day, you see many kids dressed up walking around the parks, as long as my kids want to I will let them... its fun for me too!!

Ditto all of that...my DD5 almost always dresses up every day we are in the World! For her, we've also found that the days she is dressed up, she "acts" like a princess and is on her best behavior. :confused3 So, we encourage her to be a princess every day! She has worn entire princess outfits for very long days in the parks. We do usually put a tshirt under the more itchy dresses and shorts underneath. If she ends up needing to remove the dress, it just goes in our backpack and she has clothes to wear.

We've all dressed up for MNSSHP, even had a large group one year and we were all characters from Peter Pan. We got extra special attention when we went to Peter Pan's Flight, which was really cool! We always get dressed in the room and then head to MK for the party.

So, if your little princess wants to wear her Belle dress, maybe even every day, I say go for it! She will love all the attention she gets from CMs and even guests.

We went to CRT last year and my daughter (then 3) wore a Belle costume. I even dressed my son (also 3) as a pirate. They LOVED it! This year we're going to Akershus, and they will be dressing up again! I say if you have the dress already, definitely let her wear it. Though make sure to bring a change of clothes to the park with you. Last Nov. it was way too hot to let our kiddos keep their costumes on. Have fun!
