I haven't been to IOA in probably 7-10 years, and the GF has never been. We're only going to go to IOA, and if we do the two park thing, we'll only hit Mummy, RRR, and a very few other rides at the US.

However, at IOA, is it best to go to the forbidden journey first? Where's the main rush of crowds go to?

Onsite resort guests get into IOA an hour before the public, so by the time the public is in, there will be people already in that area of the park, and already waits..Once the general public is admitted, everyone tends to head back to Harry Potter. If Ollivanders wand show/shop is something you are interested in, do it FIRST.The waits only get longer and they are in an uninteresting queue out in the sun. Then do Forbidden Journey.FJ queue goes thru Hogwarts in is part of the attraction. The lines move fast too.Over at the studios, Rip Ride Rocket seems to be the big draw now( until Transformers opens this summer)

Great advice about Olivanders, do that 1st thing. Only a few people see the show at a time and lines get long fast. FJ is a fun queue and most is in the air conditioning (except the greenhouse).

You might want to look into buying an express pass for your IOA day, we stay on site and use the resort express pass as much as possible. It saves a ton of time waiting in line.

We did IOA last year and WWOHP was SO packed in the morning! We used our Express passes to ride the dragon coasters, then did other rides before going back for FJ. We got through the line in about 15 minutes. Even the people working there said it's busiest in the morning because everyone goes there first, and it really clears out in the evening. We're going back in June (with kids in tow this time) and that's probably how we'll do it again.

You might not need Express. It depends on when you go. We haven't been getting Express and we usually go in August. From my understanding you can purchase it after you arrive if you need it.

Definitely head straight to the Harry Potter area and then avoid some waiting by riding the Hulk and Spidey when you can.
