YAY for understanding

He sings the hit song "One Less Lonely Girl". See... I paid attention during "Teentalk".

No, you watched Dick Clark last night. As did I. Which I think is like Guy Lombardo for our generation.

So we know Justin and Selena Gomez. And that Christie girl with the bubbly song. Darn! I should have been taking notes!

y'all ever heard of led zeppelin? the grateful dead? jimi hendrix?

what about miles davis? john coltrane? know who they are?

i think i've turned the corner. :(

Oh, I knew about him long before last night's show. Justin Bieber is the U2 of the next generation.

What are you talking about?:confused3 Zeppelins weren't made out of led. Why would someone be grateful if they were dead? JohnColtrane? Isn't he the guy who plays Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies? You're speaking gibberish.

Funny story that will mean nothing to the teens:

When I was just a couple years out of college we went back for some event - we were talking about music and mentioned Paradise Theater. One of the young 'uns at the time asked, "Is that anywhere near here?"

Yeah.

Oh gawd I hope not.

I know who Phineas and Ferb are. Does that count for anything? They sing - I know this because my children have been singing their theme song nonstop since Christmas. My precious snowflake received a microphone from Grandma (who laughed all the way home!)

i prefer to stay analog, thank you very much.

To help you with understanding the seventy or so pages when the teen's took over, here is what I took from it...

1. Justin Bieber is so "two thousand and late". As a result of this, he deserves to be trampled by a stampede of angry elephants.

2. When dogs are involved in child abductions, they work in pairs. One drives while the other one(the one that speaks English) lures the unsuspecting child into the vehicle with candy.

3. There was a general consensus that Taylor Lautner does look sexier in a wet t-shirt, rather than a dry one.

4. Apparently on every quarter hour they begin chanting something to the effect of "monmonmonomon". This is their teenage hormones activating, and at this point they must post photos of teen idols at a rapid pace.

So, I hope that helps to better your understanding of "teenspeak".

Oh, thank goodness! I was starting to worry I'd never find anything to reverse the brain-liquefaction process I started to suffer when trying to wrap my mind around teenspeak all on my own. Wall-E1, you're my hero.

That show is banned in this house. And I'd love a microphone. My child would hate me for it though.

That reminds me of when I saw David Bowie with Nine Inch Nails in the mid-'90s... they had just started into Under Pressure during the portion of the show when Trent Reznor & Bowie were performing together, and a group of kids behind me said, "Ugh, why are they covering Vanilla Ice?"

Part of my soul died that day. Also, my head exploded.

So why WERE they covering Vanilla Ice?? Come on....bands need to learn to be original. (Hee he, ha ha:laughing:)

Okay, in all seriousness...I love NIN, and just downloaded an acoustic song today that is with David Bowie. But I swear David Bowie was a member of the Monkeys? Who am I thinking of?
