Gingerbread House at WDW to buy

Thought I would share my Thursday experience at WDW.
After breakfast at WL (WCC) we went to the Grand FL with the purpose to buy a gingerbread house.
Price.... $65.
Well, I wasn't THAT big into buying a gingerbread house just for the two of us.
For dinner we ate at Yachtsman Steakhouse. We arrived early and killed time in the gift shop. There, early evening, they had gingerbread houses that are made by their chef. I would guess them to be the same size, or at least similar, to what is sold at GF.
$35!

We wanted to buy one too. Bought the one for $35 at the Beach/Yatch club and bought Gingerbread Shingles there as well. Went to GF to look at their Gingerbread houses($65.00) and thought the one we bought for $35 looked nicer. The shingles at the Yatch Club were alot nicer too.


P.S. It managed to survive a 15+hr car ride in the trunk of our car just fine no problems. We live in Pa. So went thru different temps.

P.S.S. Was told by head chef same reciepe as GF.

I saw the photos on the other gingerbread thread, so snapped a few of the one I bought!

The rolled up paper is a sheet of The Gingerbread Story from their Pastry Chef. It also provides a recipe for gingerbread.

I believe the GF houses are larger than the other resorts gingerbread houses. At least that's what I thought when I looked at them this past week. There was no way the ones at the GF would fit under the seat on the plane but the one I bought at YC did fit quite nicely.

I have a GF house right here. It is bigger than the one in this photo. I can tell by comparing the M&Ms on the house. My house took up the floor in front of the back seat of the van.
