Hi all

My DF and I are having his nephews in our wedding. They will be the ring bearer (age 4) and jr. Groomsman (age 8). We are having trouble trying to find appropriate gifts for them. They are....how do we say....rather brutish?
So, most of the suggestions on the wedding website won't work (silver piggy banks, etc.) We dont' want to buy them toys, per se.. But, we do want to get them something they will enjoy (while keeping it budget-friendly).

What are you all doing? I would appreciate any ideas!

Maybe boys like that would like to get Disney pirate items like pirate hats, eye patches, swords...etc. You could also put a little gift bag together with fun little items in it like marbles, jacks, a deck of cards, mini lego sets...anything that keeps there little hands busy.

Try disneyshopping.com they have pirate pjs and other things they may enjoy. My Df's nephew's are in my wedding too; age 8 and 14 months. I made them both autograph books and t-shirts and the 8 year old I am giving him the card game "war". I contributed some money to their tux's also...to help mom and dad!

We wanted something the little guys would keep and have for years (also no toys)...so we went with disney snow-globes....I was shocked at how much the kids liked them....figured they would just sit on a shelf but they really thought they were cool...

We are going to go to the disney outlet this weekend and see if we can find any bags, then we'll load up on pirate stuff from disney shopping! I will definately look into the cruise thing as well. Depends on the cost.
And the snowglobes are a great idea! I think I will get one for the Jr. Bridesmaid...she loves that kind of stuff!

Island of the Caribbean Pirate Adventure - For children ages 4-10 (must be potty trained) -- young adventurers, wearing pirate bandannas, will board a boat to sail the Ports of the Caribbean, just like Captain Jack! They will be told the story of Old Port Royale and of the pirates that used to sail the waters. They will find props and signs leading to treasure. Once they recover the treasure, they will sail to Fort Cay and trade for some grub (lunch). When they return to Old Port Royale, they will unlock the treasure chest and bounty will be shared by all. As of 1/14/07, operates Sundays, as well as Tuesdays from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. $28.17 per child pus tax. Lunch: Peanut Butter and Jelly Uncrustables, Gummy Bears, Gold Fish Treats, and Apple Juice Box.
