DW, DS, and I recently took a Disney Cruise on the Wonder using DVC points (great trip, btw). We received a beach towel for being in the Castaway Club (sailed on DCL before), but we didn't receive anything from DVC for using our points to sail. Last cruise they gave us a bottle of wine. Have they not been giving send-off gifts lately?

We have not gotten anything in the past for cruising on DVC points. Maybe the gift was a trial thing that didn't pan out.

We cruised our first time on pts and then on our most recent trip on pts. I was also thinking that DVC gave us a stateroom gift, but then after thinking about it more, maybe they gave us the gifts at the DVC reception. On our recent cruise, there was no DVC presence on the ship. Have they stopped doing that? No reception for members, no table selling memberships. We didn't receive a CC gift in our room either. I don't mean to sound greedy or anything, but it was a little sad to walk in the room and not find anything for us on the bed. I missed that :(.

At a member gathering in Februray on the 7 day western cruise we each received DVC baseball caps and luggage tags. They also gave away some things in a contest like t-shirts and tote bags.

I have received gifts at the Members Get-together on board. I still have my baseball caps, luggage tags and pins. I love them.

How good of a point discount is offered to book an additional cruise while on the ship? I saw some postings, but nothing definitive...

We did the Western Caribbean cruise on the Magic back at the end of March. We saw a couple that had on red DVC baseball caps and started chatting (they love their DVC membership!) and they told us they got their caps when they went to the DVC member meeting on board. I'm not sure if they got other stuff as well. The DVC was well represented on our cruise. There were information meetings almost daily (?) and the table was set up near guest services.

We just cruised last week. Now last year on the Wonder I never heard anything about a DVC gathering, but this year it was Sunday morning on the Magic. We are a family of 5 and we each got bright red DVC caps and luggage tags. We didn't win anything in the raffle, but others got fanny packs, towels, etc. We stopped at the DVC table a few times during the week and the representatives said they were doing very well getting new members on our cruise. There were over 200 DVC members on our cruise alone.
The funny thing was we didn't book this one on points, my parents picked up the tab, but last year when we DID use points (for 4 of us anyhow) we didn't see much of a DVC presence.

We sailed on the Wonder in February 2003 and there were no DVC gifts. I think that happens on the Magic which makes the 7 day cruises.
