Wondering if anyone has any gift ideas for a 10 year old girl who has just recently joined a traveling basketball town league?
TIA

Seeing that you're in New England, you could get her tickets to a UConn Husky game and make an outing. Gino Auriemma's team is still ranked in the top three nationally.
The game on February 18 against Baylor will probably be a de facto national champoinship game, but it's on a Monday night.

Probably the second most critical game of the season will be when they play Notre Dame in Storrs on Saturday, January 5th - that may be an easier game to get to, if she's still on winter break.

Or, if her and your schedule permits, you could get her season tickets for a local team (Boston College is doing well). Most local teams do a lot of outreach to young players, like autograph sessions after games, and they may offer a basketball summer camp that she could save up for.

Duffel bag, cosmetic bag, a good pair of headphones, etc. Stuff she can use when she travels with the team.

A good quality basketball

An outdoor basketball net

A gift certificate for quality basketball shoes from her local sports store

Underarmour Dri-Fit shirts (for under her jersey)

Sneaker balls (those funky odor-eating fresheners that go inside your shoes)

A nice water bottle

A new gym bag

Sports headbands (if she has long hair)

A scrapbook for documenting her team's successes and personal memories over the course of the season

Also...have you checked to see if the association that she plays for offers spirit wear for purchase? Maybe she'd like a team hoodie or jacket or windsuit.

I think this is a good idea, and I was going to suggest pretty much the same thing...get her tickets to a women's basketball game, either a college one or a professional one (Mohegan Sun has a womens team, I'm not sure where there are others)

My DD11 also recently joined a travel baskbetball team.

She loves her Nike basketball socks. Get more than 1 pair to make washing easier...between 2 teams, 3-4 practices and 2 games every Sat multiple pairs are needed.

A thermos - not sure the size but bigger than a regular water bottle. NOthing like running out.

Long hair needs lots of hiar ties.

A Frog Tog to wipe her face during the game.

Baskbetball shorts for practice.

DD is also getting a basketball charm, earings.

Thanks everyone! These are some great ideas! Not sure which I am going to go with, but thanks so much!!!!
