Ok, on the odd chance we actually get to St. Louis for Christmas given the current weather predictions I can't decide what to do for Christmas this year as far as opening presents.

Usually we let the kids open one gift on Christmas Eve. Usually we don't have any of our presents out so they have always just opened gifts from each other or from people that have mailed us things. They are not getting that many gifts from us this year as everything they got was pretty expensive. Soooo, I am trying to decide if I should just let them pick whatever they want to open and if they pick their big gift on Christmas Eve, so what or should I hold back their "big" gifts and not let them open them? Decisions, decisions. The presents are all coded so they have NO idea which boxes are for them.

I know, in the grand scheme of things, who cares, but since they are all old enough to be in the know with Santa, I still like them to have some WOW on Christmas morning.

I would hold the 'big' presents for Christmas morning. We also usually let DD open one "small" gift on Christmas eve too.

I would hold back the big one and let them open a small one

We have always opened all our gifts Christmas Eve, so that's my vote. ;)

When I was a kid I opened the "best" gift on Christmas Eve. I'll never forget the year that I got to open my Sega Genesis and I played it all night.

personally . i would save the big gift for xmas morning !
otherwise .. how will the kiddies ever get to bed for xmas morining !

We open 1 gift Christmas Eve too, it's our new Christmas jammies. :) Everything else gets opened Christmas morning.

We open all the gifts from eachother on Christmas Eve (sibling gifts etc..). Which usually includes ALL the presents under the tree. Then "Santa" comes on Christmas morning and we'd open those presents.

My siblings are 21 and 18 and we still get gifts from Santa!
I love my parents for keeping that alive :)

I would hold back the big presents. But maybe I'm not understanding? Are ya'll going to be home on Christmas Day or on the road? If you're going to be on the road I'd probably do it all a day early.
