I teach first grade Religious Education at my Church and I'll be missing a week when I'm in Disney. I want to get something for my students if they're good for their sub. I'm not allowed to give them candy with the allergy issue and I have five boys and two girls so it has to be something they will all like. Nothing too big expensive. Any suggestions?

If you plan to see Mickey a few times, you could get him to sign postcards. Cheap and something special. You may even be able to drop them off to be signed somewhere and pick them back up. I get cards delivered to my room for my kids each trip.

Not sure how much you want to spend...but one year there was a pin and lanyard set that was part of the purchase with a purchase. Lanyard and 8 pins - I think it was $30 with a $50 purchase; break the set up and keep one of the pins and lanyard for yourself.

And how old are your students? I like op's idea to give each child a pin. I think you could pick up individual pins for about 7.00 each. But again, it depends on how much you are looking to spend.

I taught first grade and used to bring my students the hard plastic Mickey ears straws. I think they sell them at all the food courts. I used to get mine at the Caribbean Beach Resort. The kids always loved them.

Be sure to check out Marketplace Fun Finds at DTD. they have several items under $10, and my favorite, a 5 for $20 section! They also sell a grab bag of surprises, but I don't recall the cost.

I may get them pins. I'd have to get them the same one though. Once I'm actually there, then I can really look at everything

You can get them pencils with the end of shape as Mickey ears, but I'm not how much they cost. But I think they may be cheaper than the pins, and they can found at most gift shops around the parks and the resorts.

And they can actually use them in class.....

You can also ask a CM for extra free stickers for your students.

My friend sneakily bought a birthday present for me while we were there and the CM gave her a bunch of free stickers for me as part of my birthday present.

UGH! As a fellow teacher, I can tell you DON'T get pencils. The quality is awful. I got my 2nd graders the little foam key chains of Mickey & Minnie heads. They're like a small version of an antenna topper. I attached them to their backpack zippers and they loved them. I had to buy for 20, so I went cheap!

Check at the shops and DVC booths. Once I tell them I'm a teacher they give me tons of Mickey stickers!

It's always tough to find something that both boys and girls enjoy. You might try getting them a chess set or a telescope, or something educational. Maybe even something they can all enjoy rather than getting individual gifts. There is a website called The Ultimate Super Store dot com and they have some good educational gifts for children. I was on there recently and their prices are reasonable. I hope this helps. Enjoy your trip.

Depends on what you want to spend...

Pens/pencils come to mind first, but I see the quality may be an issue for the pencils.

Maybe pressed pennies...51 cents each and the machines are all over the parks.

CM's do give free stickers and all kids love stickers--I like that suggestion paired with something else that isn't too pricey. The gift shops have lots of little trinkets, but I noticed most are over $4.95.

Magic towels would be a good gift for that age and are about a dollar each. They sell them at all of the larger WDW gift shops, usually near the small stuffed animals or near the checkout. They are basically washcloths and the ones from WDW are a better quality fabric than the dollar store version. There are many choices of designs for boys and girls.

I know it's a religious school, but you might want to cheat;) a bit. If you have a Disney Store near by you could purchase them something there before the trip to give them, or check out your local $ store or if you are driving, check out the wal-mart near WDW. It's not like buying your own child the stuffed animal of the character they love most at WDW. There are so few really good choices at the resort that are not going to cost you a lot for that many children .Our first grader likes the dehydrated wash clothes they have at the $store in all different Disney themes. The stationary items are not great quality there either, but they are much cheaper!!!First grade little boys are not big fans of coloring books either.
