I just found out that one of my best friends is pregnant with her first child! :goodvibes Her and her husband are both extremely excited and our whole church is thrilled too! (We haven't had any new babies around for a while now...) ;)

Anyways, since we're pretty close, I'd like to do something special for not just the baby, but for her too. Especially since at baby showers there are a ton of gifts for baby, but not too many for mom...

So, to anyone who is pregnant or have had children, what's something you would like or would have liked to have for yourself during your pregnancy or right after delivery? And what did you want to have most for your child? (I know diapers is a good choice, but I'd like to give her something a little more personal than that...)

I still have plenty of time to decide on something; she's due New Year's Eve! :teeth:

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

For Mom maybe a gift certifictae for some beauty treatment (Massage?) or something photo related (Album? Frame?) Clothes are always good for a baby too. Try and by various sizes maybe 3-6 months rather than newborn. I remember when mine were little that I'd always receive something too big but later be relieved because those babies seem to grow overnight sometimes lol

FOOD! organize something at your church to have some dinners made for her.
I loved having home cooked meals ready to go in my freezer- particularly since I didn't make them!:rotfl2:
You are so very tired with that first baby and having some healthy to eat is a great thing.

Or if you don't want to make something my other favorite was a Fruit basket I got. I was so thirsty after I got home and fruit hit the spot!

Oh and my fall back on baby gift is this monogramed.

When I was pregnant with my oldest, my mom bought me a set with a nursing nightgown and a matching "baby bag" outfit for the baby. It was adorable and very useful.

Even if she doesn't plan to breastfeed, matching pajamas might be an idea - they look nice in pictures.
