Hi. My wife and I are taking a solo trip to the Beach Club in a few days and I wanted to have a nice basket delivered to our room while we were out one evening. I'm currently looking at a basket from Disney Floral and Gifts. The price is acceptable but the quality of the basket seems questionable. A shelf stable Brie, $3 box of Ghirardelli Chocolate squares, a bottle of "Fairy Tale Cuvee" (which I believe is a decent Sparkiling from Iron Horse) and probably the nicest part, 2 Mickey Champagne Flutes. The delivered price is $132. Does anyone know of another company where I could get something similarly priced or even a bit higher but including maybe nicer components?

Second thought. If I brought something of my own and slipped it to the Concierge Desk without her knowing would they store it and deliver it to our room while we were out?

Lastly, if I do make up my own Basket does the Gift Shop at the Beach Club sell any Disney Themed Champagne Flutes?

I appreciate any tips!

I cannot answer all of your questions. I can tell you that my husband surprised me 3 weeks ago with the exact basket you are talking about. There was nothing in the gift shop similar to the champagne flutes and I didn't see any wine glasses. They said that they do carry them sometimes but just didn't have any at that time. Oh you also get an aluminum platter that holds up rather well.

I know that you are able to order from different grocery stores but that they won't take your stuff into your room without you there to receive it. I'd be concerned that it would be a similar situation if you used an outside vendor for a gift basket. If you don't mind being there to receive it, that will very likely be your cheapest way to go. Disney is very proud of their gift baskets.

Thanks so much for the reply! So you were happy with the basket? Makes me feel a bit better hearing personal feedback on it. :-)

FYI just found out that Florida law prohibits them from dropping alcohol into the rooms without a signature. I could have the basket left in the room with Sparkling Cider but not Champagne, that would have to be signed for. Kind of ruins the surprise. I may try and put together a basket on my own and slip back to the room to set it up when she's not there.

I was happy with it and it was in our room waiting for us when we returned from dinner our first night.

Glad to hear you liked it! Did your basket have the Champagne or Sparkling Cider? The woman I spoke with at Disney Floral told me baskets with alcohol had to be signed for.
