Ghosts, and Villians, and Disney, Oh My! An October PTR- Link to TR

Wanted to share some pictures of the kids from the summer. Noah turning 4 this past weekend has made me pretty sentimental, I am realizing that they are growing up so fast. They seem so much bigger than they did in even April!

Happy birthday to Noah! I hope he had a lovely birthday :) Your kids are so cute in those pictures!

I LOVE the outfit you picked for Chloe, she is going to look so precious in it!!!

What great pictures! I love the Tigger, Woody & Jessie ones. I hope we get a picture w/Woody & Jessie!

Your kids are beautiful in the summer pics. Chloe's looks so cute on her 1st day of school.

Happy Belated Birthday Noah!!:clown::bday:

Thanks Dana! Noah is still celebrating his bday, this weekend is his party at Chuck E. Cheese. You know he is excited about that one! And thanks!

Wow! Your kids are gorgeous!:) They do grow up fast don't they!:sad1:

Thanks! Oh, do they ever. 4 is just not a baby anymore. Thankfully both the kids are cuddlebugs, but I know one day that will change too. I'd just like to press pause right now!

Happy Belated Birthday Noah!!:clown::bday:

I have a confession to make, I found another outfit I might just have to buy. I have been debating it, but it is just too cute. 2 days ago I got a catalog in the mail. Here is a pic, it is reversable.

Only problem it is on backorder through the 4th of october. Don't know if I would get it in time.

Thanks, and today I put Chloe's hair in pigtails and had to take a picture, might have to share it!

And thanks for the birthday wishes for Noah!

Was thinking earlier (never a good thing:rotfl:) and realized that I had decided not to see Spectromagic this trip, as we had seen it in April. Now I realize it isn't Spectro, the parade is MSEP. Ugh! The two days we are going to be at MK are both MNSSHP days, so no MSEP. Then I thought, well we should be in by 7:30ish on the 16th and MSEP is at 9pm that night, so we might could make it. We would have to pick up our park tickets at guest relations instead of getting them the next day when we checked into POR. So, has anyone ever picked up their part of a package tickets earlier than check-in day? I would have to add a day to both of the kids tickets, not sure if that would be better to call now and do or just wait until we get there and add a day? Would love some opinions on this. I guess we could just wait until we get there that day and if we felt up to hitting a park after a 10 hour drive just be spontaneous and go.

I guess my real question is what would you do? And about picking up package tickets before check-in? I'll add one more- has anyone upgraded to ap's? Have read on the trip planning board about trouble upgrading a KTTW card that has the ddp on it. Like taking off the park tickets on the KTTW card and then magically, or unmagically the dining plan disappears. That would be a not so much fun hassle!

Hey Ashley!

I can answer many of your questions myself..but some I had to use Cheshire Figments comprehensive ticket FAQ:

So, has anyone ever picked up their part of a package tickets earlier than check-in day?

From Cheshire Figment:
I. Picking up Package Tickets Prior To Start Of Package

In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up.

It is only valid for people with packages at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort. You can be staying off-property at the time you pick up the tickets.

There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.

And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in.

I would have to add a day to both of the kids tickets, not sure if that would be better to call now and do or just wait until we get there and add a day?

This is from me: Definitely wait until you get there...always purchase a ticket with the LEAST options you might use. Disney always lets you had more to the tickets (more days, hopping, WP&M) but once you've added something you can't take it off.

Add one more- has anyone upgraded to ap's?

Yup we did this last December. We had ordered only a 1-day ticket with our package. DMIL we had some comp tickets for her, so kept the 1-day ticket (still have it) and DD, DW and I went to Epcot on our first day, used the 1-day ticket, and went with our KTTW card to Guest Services and upgraded to an AP. Easy Peasy!

I guess my real question is what would you do?

Hmmm...I would want to see MSEP since it is unknown how long it will stay at WDW. I am not sure I would be trying to see it on the night after driving 10 hours to get there, though. The only alternative I can think of is you come back over and do it on Saturday the 23rd, that would still require buying an extra park day (plus paying for parking) and would be a pain in the butt as well. You do need to add that extra day before you use the last day on your ticket, so you'd have to be sure you want to do it.

If you are thinking of upgrading to an AP for another trip within the next year, I would say skip it...I think it'll be there at least through next summer. Otherwise, I just don't know...I certainly wouldn't pay for a hopper just to see it.

Another thought - could switch your MK and DHS days...but I don't know how that would affect ADRs.

Sorry I couldn't think of a better alternative...I'll keep thinking.

Hey Ashley!

great TR! love the interaction at CP!!! the kids were so excited (doesn't it just make it all worth the whole trip!) and how lucky to have caught up with Jessie and Woody...we have yet to catch Woody much less Jessie but we did see them in the parade which made Ashton's day. Next, trip to WDW I will have to start my MK day in Adventureland I have missed the last two trips now.

I love the outfit you found!!! I would almost have to get it just to have it, I love how it is reversible (can you order it big enough to last for next spring and summer?!?)

Happy BElated birthday! to Noah it just made me realize that he and Ashton are the same age...how awesome that you guys have sports at the Y for him. I just noticed a Y in St. Tammany about a month ago, I may need to go check it out...we were just waiting out the time till he turns 5 to sign him up locally :rolleyes1
fun summer pictures thanks for sharing!

as for your questions I think I would have to try and see if I could figure a way to catch the parade; I was happy to have caught Spectro this year just sorry Ashton missed it; but, that is just me... you will be doing the Halloween party so you could always save the parade for next time....gives you something to look forward to!

can't help with the other questions but I think skier pete gotcha covered!

Easy Peasy!Glad to know you have actually done this. Correct me if I am wrong, but the one day ticket was completely used and you were able to still get credited the one day price on the ap's. That seems to be what Chesire Figment says too, but it helps to know that you were able to do that!

My replies are in red. By the way, how do you multi-quote one post? Not sure we will make it back with the kids before next summer, we are planning an adult trip for early next year:woohoo:. I am going to attempt MSEP, but I know that it may not happen. Really will depend on how tired we are after the drive in!

Thanks! I love looking at the pictures where the kids are gleaming. I am so glad they have a love for disney! Jessie and Woody were right beside Splash Mountain (to the left or the waterfall), hope Ashton can see them next time. You must go to Adventureland!

I haven't ordered the outfit yet. These past few days have been crazy here, and I need to give the place a call and see what I should do. I really want the dress for Disney. Not sure if 11 days is enough time to get it in. They also have other reversibles, and they have boy clothes, but IDK they aren't really Noah's style:laughing:.

Thanks, we actually had Noah's party yesterday and he had so much fun. This past summer was the first time Noah did a sport, the Y has a 3-4 league in soccer and baseball. I am probably going to do baseball in the spring for him. When he turns 5 he can play locally, but until then the Y is about all he can do. My SIL has her kids in Coquille in St. Tammany, I am pretty sure the age is 4 there as well.

We will definitely see the halloween parade, so if we don't see MSEP then that would be okay. Noah didn't see Spectro either, fast asleep in the stroller.

That outfit is too cute!!!!!!

How was Noah's CEC party? My boys have been bugging to go (last time we were there was March!) but I told them we are gonig to Disney in less than 2 weeks, CEC can wait!!! LOL!

Multi-quote a single post is easy...you just break the mesage up into sections and cut and paste the Quote start and end over and over again...OK, not really easy. Very manual. Sometimes I do it, sometimes (like here) I don't.

The AP upgrade...we had used the 1-day ticket that day to get into the park...I don't think you can use your ticket up, and then come back later in the week or the next day and upgrade it...I think you need to upgrade by the last use day. I could be wrong there, and it could be 14-days from first use.

We have the same problem with MSEP..except we have the advantage of having hoppers with our AP. Unfortunately it's still only showing a few times the whole trip because of all the halloween parties. We might try and sneak it in that same night (the 16th) because our other choice is our LAST night at the AKL. Maybe we'll see you there. (We usually stake on Main Street, but if we get there later might swing over to Frontierland.)

multi quote a single quote is easy ladies
just quote it and you place your cursor(you don't need to cut and paste) on the line you want to type on...Ashley most people do just what you did by changing the color of your add ins...

easy peasy...

hope that helps!

Ashley~ Coquille sounds so familiar I need to check into it! thanks!

It was CRAZY! Funny thing I refused to go into a CEC on saturday until yesterday. I won't say never again, but I will say I needed some tylenol by the time it was over!:rotfl2: Noah had a great time and really that is all that matters, right? Maybe sunday's aren't as bad. We love CEC, but party's there are very chaotic.

Oh yes I think they can atleast wait til after disney!!!!:dance3:

Seems like too much work for me:lmao:

Not sure when we will upgrade, but will do before we leave the last park day. Guess it shouldn't be any issue whichever day we decide though. The only thing that scares me a little is about the ddp, but as long as I get the park tickets on a separate card (not KTTW) it shouldn't mess it up. If we upgraded the first day there then dh and I would technically have hoppers, but not the kids, and not upgrading their's for the $54 apiece.

If we decide to go then I really want to see it from Main Street, get in and out as quickly as possible. Of course, then the kids would probably be begging to go ride something. Frontierland sure wouldn't be bad though, then a ride on BTMRR at night, kids might like that and I know I would!

Right now I am trying to figure out how we can leave on friday instead (the 15th) and cut the drive in half. That way we could get to the world early in the day and we would be up for MSEP.

Well, good, think I will continue doing it that way. Seems like it is so much easier.:goodvibes

I think Coquille is off the same road the Y is on, closer to exit 57.

That last idea sounds the best...more time in the world! I think that's what I would do anyways...leave after work on Friday and drive about 5 hours...let the kids sleep in the car. Get a hotel overnight...get up in the morning and be in WDW by mid-day. You could check into your hotel, maybe grab a swim before heading over to MK. Nice solution.

In regards to switching to an AP affecting your KTTW/DDP card...we had the DDP and had no problems either. They give you a separate pass for the APs, so basically your tickets are removed from your KTTW card, and therefore your FP use as well, but your room key, DDP, and room charges all stay on the KTTW card. Again, it was no problem at all.

Just catching up. The Summer pics of the kids are adorable. Happy belated birthday to Noah! I wish I had been at the party 'cause that cake looked delish.:thumbsup2

Was hoping to have gotten this post up much earlier, but this past weekend was busy here. Friday was dh's birthday, then Saturday was ds's birthday party, yesterday we still had grandparents in, so today it has finally calmed down around here.

April 21- Part 2

Up to this point we had trekked it through Fantasyland, Liberty Square, and Frontierland. We had just finished up at the Country Bear Jamboree and were heading into Adventureland.

We decided to head to Jungle Cruise, but it was about a 40 minute wait, so we were going to fast pass it. Here I should say that the first night when we went to Target I had picked up some handy-dandy lanyards to hold our KTTW cards and fp’s. Well, Janea didn’t; I had mentioned it but…. See where this is going. Chris popped out cards in and out came the fp’s. Janea was searching for her KTTW cards. She took everything out of her backpack and then realized the small bag she had put them in was missing!:scared1: Not only were their KTTW cards in there, but also a gift card that had about $300 left on it. I tried to calm her down with the “It’s disney, everything will be okay, just go back to CBJ and Splash Mountain and see if anyone has turned it in.” So off her and her DH went, Chris and I now had all 4 kids.

We decided to take a peak at the Swiss Family Treehouse, we had never seen it before. The kids raced through it. Not that thrilling. Then we went to

IMG_2272.jpg

AL_CARPETS_2401.jpg

Nothing spectacular, but any ride the kids can control they tend to like. Now we were needing to make sure that any ride we did could be done with 6 people and let me say Adventureland was the right place to be. Next to

POC.jpg

We did briefly stop to see part of the pirate tutorial, but when we saw tons of people heading our way (assumingly from the parade) we went quickly into POC. POC is one of my favorite rides, and the boys especially loved it. We were all singing “a pirate’s life for me” when we got off. Then I was thinking of a sweet treat. Off to Aloha Isle we went, stopping by the water-spitting tiki’s on the way. Oh, how I wish my camera’s batteries weren’t dead- the kids were all laughing and playing in the water! Finally, we got them to come on. Dole whips here we come. We ordered some pineapple dole whips, some swirl ones, a plain vanilla one and a root beer float. Janea and David made it back to us just as we were sitting down to eat them. Unfortunately, no luck yet, but they were able to replace the KTTW cards and got some paper fast passes from guest services (they had 4 paper fp’s for up to 8 people on each). What did we think of the dole whips? :love:I really loved the swirl ones, the pineapple one was way too tart for me, and the root beer float was amazing. Chloe and Noah stole the root beer float, think that was their fav. Only Chris and Janea liked the pineapple dole whip. Anyway, the sweet treats were just what we needed.

Jungle Cruise time. As everyone says the skipper makes all the difference, ours wasn’t so great. We rolled our eyes the entire boat ride. After that we saw the Enchanted Tiki Room.

AL_TIKI_2401.jpg

Great place to rest your feet and cool off. It is kinda outdated, but we all enjoyed it. David and Janea wanted to do POC, so of course we obliged. Loved it again. Time for a small rant. My feet were really aching at this point. Yes, we had been at the park since before 8am and had traveled many lands, but what did me in was the trips to the bathroom while in Adventureland. The only one is by POC (unless I am mistaken) and I swear to you I went back and forth with the 4 kids atleast 5 times. Noah was the worst one, but when a kid who just had been fully trained tells you they have to go, you book it. My poor feet were ready for a rest, but instead we decided it was time for Mad Tea Party.

IMG_2320.jpg

Janea went to check at guest services one more time while we were at the tea cups. Right before we boarded the spinning cups here she came with a big smile on her face. Bag was turned in with everything in it, and all 8 of us got to “enjoy” that woosie feeling. It was getting close to 5 and we were about ready to eat, but first off to Mickey’s Toontown we went.

IMG_2458.jpg

We rode the Barnstormer.

IMG_2459-1.jpg

Which I will state is the quickest ride EVER. Then toured Minnie and Mickey’s houses. We skipped seeing the characters because our tummies were ready for some sustenance. Cosmic Ray’s was our cs of choice. I like the diversity of food here, plus when using a cs credit (ddp) the value is great. We got our food quickly and parked ourselves right in front of Sonny. We all enjoyed the meal, but Sonny wasn’t the only entertainment. There was a group of about 5 teenie-boppers and they were carrying on with the giggling, and then they started a FOOD FIGHT. Only amongst themselves, and in the end they were under the table cleaning up the mess they made, but oh my the moms/chaperones were right there letting this go on. Guess it had been a long day.

It was now getting dark and off to our last land we ventured- Tomorrowland. Not sure why, but we usually go here last. First up,

IMG_2327.jpg

Note, never go to the left side, less cars over there. We had split up and I would say it took about 10 more minutes in that line. Kids really love steering the cars here, but I don’t like it one bit. Jerk to the left, jerk to the right, almost as bad as the teacups!

Chris, David, and Hayden went to ride Space Mountain with the paper fp’s and Janea and I took the other 3 kids to Tommorrowland Transit Authority. I do think we grabbed fp’s to Buzz first though. TTA is such a nice, relaxing ride. We did get stuck, but luckily it was in Space Mountain. Wonder if one of the rockets shooting by were the guys? It started moving within a few. When we got off we waited and waited for the guys. It was getting close to time for Wishes, so I was getting antsy.

Day 3 Part 2 Continued...

Finally, here they come. We quickly found a spot, but not so great viewing. We were on the walkway between tomorrow land and the noodle station and the roof blocked some of the fireworks. Here are some pics from a previous trip (taken on the tomorrow land bridge, so basically the same view- though without a roof in the way).

The best thing about our view was when tinkerbell came down from the castle. Best view I have seen of her. When Wishes were over, we all went back to Tomorrowland. Janea and I were off to Space Mountain

IMG_2608.jpg

and the guys and kids were off to Buzz. We were in the front of the rocket, she was first and I right behind her. The ride was very smooth and oh so much fun. I could ride this one over and over again. Since the refurb it definitely seems darker in there, even more thrilling if you ask me. Janea and I rode Buzz with the kids after SM. Buzz is just not as fun as I remember it, guess TSM is just so much better it ruined Buzz for me.

It was about time to head out, but first Spectromagic. These pictures are not my own, I borrowed them from the boards. (hope the owner doesn't mind:goodvibes) They are quite good.

I'll throw this one in because I think it is sooo pretty!

IMG_2336.jpg

After this is was time to head out of the park- closing time and I do believe we had tackled as much as anyone could’ve that day. Unfortunately, we discovered that riding the bus that morning had been a bad idea. We waited for atleast an hour to even get on a bus and then the wheels of the stroller started popping off. It was a disaster, did I mention both kids were asleep too. Oh, and I spilled the melted ice in the ice chest all down my back and all over the bus (I did tell the bus driver). By the time we finally got back to the room the only thing I could do was mutter “no more buses”. I was laughing about it, but I think I may have been laughing to keep from crying.

Well, that is it from our mostly magical Magic Kingdom day. Next up is Earth Day at the greenest park.

I hope we can Chris just has to get off which isn't that easy because it requires someone willing to make a swap for 2 days with him. So, it may not happen, won't know until the week of.

Good to know, I was all worried about it affecting the DDP. Thanks for putting my mind at ease!:goodvibes

Just catching up. The Summer pics of the kids are adorable. Happy belated birthday to Noah! I wish I had been at the party 'cause that cake looked delish.:thumbsup2

Thanks Lisa! We still have some cake left over, it was sooo rich. Believe it or not it was a walmart cake.

I love love love all of your pictures in the latest update. I can never get my nighttime pics to turn out worth a hoot.:confused3
