Ghost Whisperer (new season) SPOILERS! - Who will be watching?

I only saw the last few minutes but have to say...what is up with all these shows skipping 5 years ahead? First Desperate Housewives and now Ghost Whisperer?! Other than that, I missed the premiere and can't comment on whether it was good or not but I am a little surprised that they chose to skip ahead like that.

I actually think it makes a lot of sense. If they hadn't skipped ahead, they may never have had the chance to explore the baby's powers because who knows how long the show will remain on the air.

It may. Like I said, I didn't get to watch it so I don't really know what happened. I was just surprised either way. I wonder how much longer it will be on the air after this season though. Don't get me wrong, I have always been a fan of the show, but I have been concerned for the show ever since the stupid Jim dying storyline. I keep wondering if the show will make it much longer.

So at the risk of asking for a spoiler, did the boy exhibit any powers in last night's show then?

I don't want to say because that quesiton is a big part of the show. I would have to give you a spoiler to give you an accurate answer.

I have to say that I agree with you about the "Jim dying" storyline being stupid and kind of anti everything that the show did (if your husband refused to go into the light when he died and just took over another freshly dead body, how can you convince other spirits to go into the light):confused3
I was not going to come back to Ghost Whisperer, but it's kind of addicting and I am back - at least for now. I'll chalk up last year to the same sort of misguided writers who wrote the "Bobby is dead. No, his wife just dreamed last season" storyline on Dallas (didn't watch it, but have heard how mad the viewers were about that). Hope the Ghost Whisperer people learned something from the fan comments hating the 'Dead Jim' storyline.

For now, we can say that in last season's finale that Melinda was told her child is more powerful than she is.

Let's wait til Monday to turn this into a full Spoiler thread. Is that okay with everyone? :goodvibes Seems there are a lot of people who didn't get to see it, may be waiting for a chance this weekend, may not have because the Jim being dead story line was really so lame :p, and may now be interested again as he's alive again and will watch this weekend. :happytv:

You know if we start whiting things out to discuss, people will take peeks. :hyper:

I missed the show last night. Is there any place online I can see it?

Horseshowmom had told me the full episode is online at CBS. :thumbsup2

Here it is:

It's taking me forever to get through it though. For some reason, it's only loading in bits and pieces.

Good luck to everybody else (be sure to hit the full screen button to watch it). :goodvibes

Maybe it's heavy traffic from a lot of people tuning in? :hyper: It's probably gotten around on other boards that the show is heading in a different direction this season. :chat:

I do agree this may be the last season. We thought last season was their last when they did that "Let's kill Jim (temporarily)" that they were running out of ghost stories and going off in weird directions. I really hated the season with all the ghosts down in the tunnel beneath the antique shop. :p

With the child in the picture now, it is giving them a fresh direction to go in... for a while. It may be a good thing. :)

I watch! I only really got into it last year after Jim 'died' and turned into Sam and all that crap. I'm trying to catch up with the reruns on Syfy. I'm doing fine with the storyline, accept the whole 'watcher' and 'creepy ghost tunnel beneath the shop' thing. And I'm trying to figure out what happened to Melinda's partner from the first season, but I guess I will eventually find out.

And seriously, how can so little change in 5 years? You have shows like Desperate Housewives where pretty much EVERYTHING is different after they skip ahead, but with GW...everything is pretty much the same.

I agree, I didn't like the tunnel thing either. And when you think about it, the show has gone off in several strange directions that never really got explained, but what can I say, I like it! :rotfl2:

Since they started broadcasting the first episodes, I'm getting caught up on them (I was a late joiner ;)).

I'm still "watching" the premier. I do other things while it loads some and then go back. :lmao:

I finally finished! :yay:

It was good, and I liked it, but I'm still a little bit confused about some points. :scratchin

I watched!! I thought the skipping 5 years was fine and I'm so happy Jim's back! That being said, I didn't think this was one of the greatest GW espisodes but it's one of my favorite shows and I'll always watch (until the cast changes!!).

I juat watched it online.
Does anyone notice that Jennifer Love Hewitt ALWAYS wears very revealing shirts???

No, I'm too busy staring at her cleavage. ;)
She always walks around like she doesn't know she's wearing L-O-W tops either.

Okay, everyone. Thread title has been changed, so this is a full SPOILER thread now! :goodvibes

Let's have at it! Hopefully enough people got to watch it over the weekend.

And just so people aren't confused , we can discuss spoilers during or right after the show from now on. popcorn:: No waiting for Monday. This time was just because a lot of posters seemed like they wanted to catch up, and it was the premiere. :happytv:

loved it. Was a bit shocked that it moved 5 years ahead, but it went along fine.

Yes, that was a shock for me too. I'm glad they went to commercial right away so I could digest the time change. I feel like they did copy Desperate Housewives.

I guess it made sense. If the child was still an infant, we would have been watching Melinda leaving the baby behind while she chased after ghosts. Now, she gets to take him along. Or, which may be the case, he leads her to some ghosts and helps her send them over.

Aiden having more and different powers will be interesting. It will give a different spin to the show as they "grow" Aiden's powers along with Melinda's. I just so hope they don't turn her into a helicopter mom, where she is always having to protect him from evil ghosts & dangers all the time. :hyper: That could get old fast.

Yeah, I kind of liked the skipping ahead 5 years thing because it did work better for the storyline than an infant would have. I also liked that it put Jim in med school now (I noticed his jacket said S. James Lucas, so I guess they're calling him Jim now instead of Sam. :confused3).

Of course it's television, and they can do whatever they want, but there are no grandparents wanting to know whether the baby was Jim's or Sam's. Everything has just progressed so easily! :rotfl2:

And I sure do agree about the tops. There's no way to avoid her cleavage. I agree about how she walks around like she has no idea that it's that way!
